a. The House of Grace is in Canton, GA, which is the sister city to Holly Springs,

where Sequoyah High School resides. With the area and school being

predominantly white, the organization focuses on helping Black girls in the

community reach their fullest potential. They would be another great resource for

all girls at the school. With a heavy focus on mental health, they also help with

girls who have been a part of some type of childhood trauma that they need help

recovering from. House of Grace can help students, especially females, with

becoming more mentally, emotionally, and physically sound. Although almost all

their resources relate to younger females, some of them addressing mental health
concerns and tips could help all students. It could also serve as a safe space for

Black girls in the community who feel like they do not belong.

3. Kid Biz Expo

a. This community event organization group is in Holly Springs. Only being a

fifteen-minute drive from the Sequoyah High School, the organization sets up

market style areas in the surrounding parks or local public building. Their mission

is to help young entrepreneurs gain confidence and specialized skills to build and

promote young businesses. Kid Biz Expo hosts events throughout Canton and

Holly Springs for youths to show off their ideas and products. They would be a

good organization to work with students of the high school because they could

educate students on real world life lessons, such as marketing, budgeting, and

helping bring their ideas to reality. They can also help with business

opportunities, as well as mentorships and sponsorships.

4. The Children’s Haven

a. The Children’s Haven is located off Marietta Highway in Canton, Ga, which is

just a fifteen-minute drive from Sequoyah High School. They specialize in

helping children of abuse by providing programs and education to help these

children reach their full potentials. This would be a good organization to partner

with the school because they could help speak out on mental health issues and

allow the students to understand and realize symptoms of abuse. They can

especially help foster youth when it comes to behavioral issues. The school can

partner with this organization to help adopted, fostered, and other students in the

system to fit in better and get help to make them feel like they belong.
5. Service League of Cherokee County

a. The Service League of Cherokee County is comprised of 100 women, whose goal

is to help underprivileged children throughout the county. They can be reached by

email and phone due to them wanting to ensure the personal information of the

people they help stays confidential. Through casework, the organization provides

gifts for the children at Christmas time and through scholarships. The Service

League could partner with Sequoyah High School to have the students host a

donation drive to help raise some money to help others who are less fortunate.
