How To Fit Your Snorkel

Put the mouthpiece inside your
mouth with the snorkel tube
against your left ear.
Bite down gently on the bite tabs
and make sure you don’t have any
discomfort against your gums.
Use your lips to seal the front of
your mouthpiece to avoid water
from leaking in.
Attach the snorkel to your mask.
You can make adjustments to the
attachment location and angle of
your snorkel tube as needed. Fit
and comfort are most important.

Practice Breathing With Your Snorkel

When snorkeling, you will only be breathing through your mouth and not your nose. Since this may be the first time you’ve experienced this,
especially for kids, it is best to practice. Try using a straw and ask them to sing their favorite song through it while pinching their nose. Make
sure you have a camera close by because this can be hilarious.

Without the mask, pinch your nose and breathe
in and out through your mouth first. Once you
feel comfortable, then breathe in and out with a
mask on your face.

exhaling “HUH” and blowing any water out of the tube, either out through the top or through the purge at the base (not all snorkels come with
a purge valve).

Start by filling up your snorkel with the water.
