Social networks are applications that allow us to have connectivity with all the people in
the world, regardless of the distance between us, in addition to connecting people, they
are also used by large companies or small businesses.

But not all social networks are used for the same thing because there are certain
networks that are used for a specific audience, and we can classify them into three
types:

- COMMUNICATION: they serve as a means of communication in which we can

communicate with people from ALL over the world and we only need an electronic
device with internet.

- INFORMATIVE: They are those in which it allows us to exchange or learn different

opinions.

- ENTERTAINMENT: They are used to clear our minds; have fun and we can have new
ideas about hobbies.

- MARKETING: They are destined to the promotion of products.

Throughout history, social networks have been an issue that always divides social
groups because many say that they are instruments in which we can take too many
risks due to the situations that we can go through and on the other hand we have the
group that is total favor of the networks because they can have many benefits.

ADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL NETWORKS

- Recover communication, social networks are a means in which we can communicate

with many people with whom perhaps we had not spoken again, for example, in the
stage we went through in which we had to isolate ourselves and leave our loved ones
loved ones such as family, friends or couples, the only means of communication were
social networks in which we could use them to make video calls with all the people we
wanted.
- Meet new people, just as we can communicate with people we already know and thus
maintain our relationship, we can also use social networks to meet new people who
share our same interests and thus create new ties with different people and so on. we
can know about the customs of other people.

- Informative, one of the best uses is the fact that we can have the information we want
at our fingertips and thus, in a certain way, the information is no longer only for certain
groups.
In addition to showing us information on topics of interest, it also helps us to learn about
problems that occur in society and in which they may not have enough support.

- Advertising, one of its most recurrent uses is advertising since in a very simple way we
can show our products or services that we offer and thus we make our business known,
whether small or large.

- Share knowledge, many people teach their knowledge with all the people who are on
the internet, there are people who teach languages, school subjects, household
activities such as cooking, cleaning, decorating, makeup, hair, etc.

DISADVANTAGES OF SOCIAL NETWORKS

- Privacy, one of the issues that causes the most concern is that by using social
networks excessively, everyone knows what we do, our information is in the hands of
people who can handle it incorrectly.

- Virtual bullying, through social networks thousands of jokes have been made to many
people and what happens is that they are not aware that behind their screen there is a
real person who reads all the jokes that are said.

- Pederasty, the sharing of photos that we publish on social networks can end up being
used in a bad way, they are used by criminal organizations to weave a network of
videos and photos of a sexual nature, although we think that this does not happen, we
must bear in mind that we are always exposed.

- False information, in the same way that the information is so close to us, we are also
exposed to accessing totally false information and in which our integrity is in danger.

- Excessive use, as everything that is used in excess is bad, the use of social networks
is a danger since we can fall into the hands of people who can become a danger to us.
As we have already seen, social networks are an instrument that, if handled correctly,
are a benefit for everyone, but if they are used incorrectly, it is a great danger. It is also
important to know that social networks are for people of a certain age already. that if
they are used by small children without adult supervision, they can fall more easily in
dangerous situations.

It is always necessary to be attentive to the publications that we see on social networks

since we can be deceived and be in danger, but if we use it correctly it is a great benefit
for us.
