BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Nespresso recommends descaling every 3 months or 300 capsules (whichever comes first).

Nespresso machines should be descaled with a Nespresso Descaling Kit which contains
a natural solution that thoroughly dissolves the scale build up. Other solutions
(such as vinegar or store-bought descalers) may cause damage to your Nespresso machine.

Descaling solution can damage or discolor surfaces so we suggest placing something

underneath your machine in case a spill should occur. If a spill does occur, please make sure
to clean up the solution immediately to avoid any damage.

Keep descaling solution out of reach of children.

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water

for 15 minutes and seek medical advice.

Do not swallow or ingest the descaling solution.

The descaling solution may be irritating to the eyes and skin.

Avoid filling up the water tank during the descaling process.

After descaling, wipe down the machine with a damp cloth.

Duration: 15-20 minutes
Requires 1 packet of solution
STEP 1
When the orange descaling
light blinks it is time to descale.
STEP 4
Fill the water tank halfway full
with water (about 17oz full) and
add 1 packet of Nespresso
descaling solution.
STEP 7
The descaling light will also
become steady if the 3 lights
cannot be seen blinking
underneath your fingers.
STEP 2
Open and close the lever to
eject any used capsule.
STEP 5
Place a container (min 33.8 oz)
under the coffee spout.
STEP 8
To exit at this point, press and
release either Espresso or Lungo.
To start descaling, press and
release the Hot Water button.
The descaling alert will stay on
during descaling and the 3
buttons will scroll from rear to
front as descaling begins.

Empty the drip tray and capsule
container and replace them on
the machine. The cup support
can be set aside.
STEP 6
To enter descaling mode, the
machine must be on and
warmed up. Press and hold
Espresso, Lungo, and Hot Water
buttons until all the lights start
blinking simultaneously (approx.
5 secs).
STEP 9
The descaling solution will begin to
dispense, alternating between the
two outlets. Wait until the water
tank is empty. The 3 buttons will be
blinking simultaneously again.

STEP 10
Discard the descaling solution.
Empty the drip tray and replace.
STEP 13
To start rinsing, press and
release the hot water button.
The descaling alert will stay on
and the 3 buttons will scroll
from rear to front as rinsing
begins. Once the tank is empty
and the machine stops making
noise repeat steps 11 through 13
to do a 2nd rinse cycle.

Wash and rinse the water tank Replace the container under the

complete. Discard the rinsing

replace, wipe down the machine,
