ASEPTIC/EXTENDED LIFE SURGE TANK PROCESS DESCRIPTION:
Aseptic/Extended Life Surge Tanks
The aseptic/extended life surge tank, along with its accessories, is designed to hold and maintain the integrity of the product. The processed product can flow through the tank or the tank can act as a bubble in the processing line. In either case, product flow diversion manifolds (FDM) are available to allow for continuous running of the aseptic filler to maximize production outputs. The aseptic double block steam manifolds are designed to isolate the tank, processing system and/or filler from each other in the event of a non-sterile condition. The air filtration package is used to maintain a positive pressure in the tank and to assist the unloading of the tank to the packaging equipment. This package is capable of filtering out airborne bacteria as small as .2 microns. The rapid cool down system is designed to provide tempered water to the tank jacket, reducing the rate of expansion and contraction while shortening the tank cool down phase. The steam inlet and condensate muffler packages are designed to filter and condense the steam utilized during sterilization. BLOCK DIAGRAM:
