PRACTICAL RESEARCH IN DAILY LIFE : OUTLINE OF DISCUSSION AND SUBMISSION

WEEK (inclusive dates): May 16-20, 2022

• FINALIZATION OF RESEARCH TITLES

o Note: All first-time and second-time consulting groups are instructed to finalize their titles in
the google form to be created for the said purpose.
• DRAFTING AND REVISION OF SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRES
o All groups with approved/for revision SOPs shall now start drafting their survey questionnaires,
which shall be validated (discussed) online and face-to-face on the coming week.

WEEK (inclusive dates): May 23 – 27, 2022

• REVISION AND FINALIZATION OF SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRES/INTERVIEW GUIDES

o Questionnaires shall be drafted as early as the 2nd week of May and shall be finalized by the
3rd week of the same month. Groups are expected to have comprehensive and responsible
consultations. Scheduling is highly recommended to accommodate all consultations.
• IDENTIFICATION, PROPOSAL, AND FINALIZATION OF RESPONDENTS
o Relative to the just concluded methods of sampling and the computation therein (as
applicable depending on the type of research), all researchers are expected to propose
sampling methods and designs within the week.
• SUBMISSION OF RESEARCH LETTER OF APPROVALS
Upon finalization of the questionnaire (as well as the identification of respondents/samples), a
letter of approval shall be secured by the student-researchers.

WEEK (inclusive dates): May 30-31, June 1-3, 2022

• START OF CONDUCT OF SURVEY DISTRIBUTION/INTERVIEW AND OTHER RELEVANT RESEARCH PROCESSES

o As soon as research is approved (together with the questionnaires/interview guide), the
distribution/conduct of interview shall now be commenced or started. It is prescribed that all
the processes (survey distribution/interview) are conducted online to avoid exposing the
researchers and the respondents to risks.
o PARENTAL CONSENT FORMS shall be secured by the researchers who are planning to go out
of the institution for every research process.
• START OF TALLYING and THE INTERPRETATION OF THE RESULTS
o After retrieving the answers from the online surveys of the respondents targeted, the student-
researchers should start tallying and must proceed to the next parts of research (data
interpretation/results interpretation). This shall be guided accordingly by the Statistics Adviser
along with the guidance of the Research Teacher-Adviser.

WEEK (inclusive dates): June 6-10, 2022

• CONTINUATION OF INTERPRETATION AND DISCUSSION OF RESULTS

o Student-researchers are expected to laboriously study, interpret, and discuss the results. The
samples of research uploaded earlier shall serve as the basis for proper presentation of results
with proper citation/recognition of sources.

• CONCLUDING AFTER THE FINDINGS

o After carefully interpreting the results, the student-researchers are expected to conclude (the
patterns and/or ways of writing conclusions and recommendations are also reflected in the
sample researches uploaded).
• ACCOMPLISHING ALL OTHER PARTS OF RESEARCH (Table of Contents, Appendices and etc.)
o After reviewing all the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of research, student-
researchers are instructed to complete all other parts of research and to prepare for the
powerpoint presentation for the final presentation and research conference.

WEEK (inclusive dates): June 13-17, 2022

• PREPARATION FOR FINAL PRESENTATION AND RESEARCH CONFERENCE

o A powerpoint presentation shall be prepared by the student-researchers for proper
presentation. It must be noted that the PPTs shall be brief/concise not to neglect the main goal
of the research which is to present the findings and etc as well the academic foundations (RRLs
of the research).

• REVISIONS OF OUTPUTS
o It is heavily expected that revisions will be suggested by research authorities after the research
presentation. All of such shall be reflected before a compendium of research (online) will be
secured for uploading per class. The said compendium shall serve as the compilation of
researches to guide the next set/generation of researches.
