professionalism is a conduct of behaviour and attitude of someone in a work or business environment. Having
professionalism may put the workplace into a beaming success.

4. Write synonyms of the word professional in the chart below.

ASSES:

1. Does the teaching profession possess all the elements of the profession? Explain your answer.
Yes, because as a teacher and before becoming a professional teacher, one must first furnish a university
program course in teaching by means of long rigorous college years. The teacher will readily start their lives as a
professional being with competence in their chosen field but before that, the teacher should take and pass the
licensure examination so that he or she will become a real professional as to what is stated by the Professional
Regulation Commission –a government authority that issues professional license in the Philippines. Having the
license does not guarantee the teacher to stop there, owing to the fact that the teacher should develop their
professionalization by having an ongoing professional education to improve their knowledge in their professional
practice. Once everything is done, the teacher will be a member of professionals in the society which moulds the
community of an individual by establishing standards for moral and ethical values as well as training people and
instilling knowledge in their minds. Behind everything, the most necessary thing the teacher must do is to ensure
to follow codes of ethics in order to not to lose their professional license membership, because being a teacher
means to live with dignity in all places at all times.

2. Why a profession does requires years of initial professional education?

A profession requires years of professional education for the reason that being professional means you give
knowledge and inspiration to the community of an individual. Sleeping for one night and waking up in the
morning will not make you a professional, rather it is a step by step process in which you need to make it into a
long dreadful journey , make lots of preparation and practices before making it on top.

3. Why does a profession require continuing professional education?

Being professional means you have lot of responsibility in a work or even in a business. This means that the
individual should persist into a professional education to improve their knowledge and skills once they begun
their professional practice as to what is mandated in a Republic Act 10912 or also known as the Continuing
Professional Development.
