1) Read the computer's manual for information on its limit on usable memory and the number of
memory slots. The experts at Hardware Secrets recommend using one of the many computer
memory scanning programs if the manual is not available. Determine if your computer requires
DDR or SDRAM format memory.
2) Check the computer's existing memory. Double-click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop,
then click on "View System Information". At the bottom of the window, you will find the amount
of RAM your system already has installed.
3) Choose a memory card that offers the highest upgrade usable by your system. The experts at
What Laptop warn that most notebook computers only feature two memory slots, and some
laptops cannot use memory cards over a specific size. This means you may be limited in the
amount of RAM you can add.
4) Look for memory cards that offer warranties and guarantees that the products will work. Memory
cards are fragile, and can easily break in transit to your home or to the store.
5) Purchase RAM that matches the brand already used in the computer if possible. According to the
experts at Bleeping Computers, matching sets of RAM generally work better than mismatched
pairs.

Antibiotic is a drug produced by certain microbes. Antibiotics destroy other microbes that damage
human tissues. They are used to treat a wide variety of diseases, including gonorrhea, tonsillitis and
tuberculosis. Antibiotics are sometimes called „wonder drugs‟ because they can cure diseases such as
meningitis, pneumonia and scarlet fever. But when the antibiotics are overused, or misused, these
drugs make a person sensitive being attacked by a superbug.
Antibiotics do not always distinguish between harmless and dangerous microbes. If a drug destroys too
many harmless micro-organism, the pathogenic ones -the dangerous microbes- will have a greater
chance to multiply. This situation often leads to the development of a new infection called
superinfection. Extensive use of some antibiotics may damage organs and tissues. For example,
streptomycin, which is used to treat tuberculosis, has caused kidney damage and deafness.
Resistance to antibiotics may be acquired by pathogenic microbes. The resistant microbes transfer
genetic material to non-resistant microbes and cause them to become resistant. During antibiotic
treatment, nonresistant microbes are destroyed, but resistant types survive and multiply.
To avoid the side effect of antibiotics, you'd better not urge your doctor to prescribe antibiotics. Keep in
mind that antibiotics are only useful for bacterial infections and have no effect on viruses, so they
cannot be used for children pox, measles, and other viral diseases.

A survey has found about 13 percent of first-time smokers in the country are junior high school
students. It also revealed 89 percent of young female employees were smokers.
The survey was conducted in five major cities across the country, including Surakarta in Central
Java. Muhammad Syahril Mansyur, the Surakarta Health Agency‟s respiratory illness division, said that
the finding of the survey showed an alarming growth rate of Indonesian smokers. “This situation is a
cause for concern,” he said. “It appears the country‟s younger generation is uneducated about the
health risks of smoking.”
The Indonesian anti-tobacco campaign has reportedly been deemed as ineffective as the
government refuses to sign the international convention on tobacco control. It said that cigarette
producers contributed to a large amount to state revenue and gave jobs to thousands of workers.
Some people think that the Internet is the most necessary thing which helps gaining education but
there are also those who blame it for making people addicted. In this article, I am going to write
about the pros and cons of the Internet.
One of the advantages of using Internet is that we can find every information we want to. The thing
we are searching will be for sure found in one of the millions of pages. What is more, the searching
process is very short and the Internet portals like 'YAHOO' and 'AltaVista' are created to help us with
it. In addition, if we have the Internet at home, we don't have to go to the libraries. In this way, we
are sparing our priceless time. Another advantage is that we can communicate almost with
everyone through the Net with help of e-mails and messengers. It's cheaper and faster than the
normal mail.
On the other hand, the disadvantages are a serious problem for today's world. The Internet is
causing one of the worst diseases - the Internet addiction. People are wasting their time taking part
in the useless chats. However, it's good because we can talk with almost everyone from the furthest
sides of our planet, but on summary - it's not worth spending our time. In addition, if we don't have
the ADSL*, we spend too much money on the modem connection. There is also a danger for the
teens because of the presence of paedophiles on the Net and lot of pages, which includes the
videos for adults.
To sum up, the Internet is very necessary but we have to learn how to use it and avoid all the
dangers of usage. We should remember that it's only a source of information and not a way to search
for serious friendship.

West Cornwall
The area that was once the engine room of Britain‟s mining industry has a haunting beauty. The
towns of Redruth and its sibling Camborne were West Cornwall‟s mining heartland. It is a place
where one must spend time to recognize the beauty. Five kilometers to the west, the village of
Portreath overlooks an area of sand, book ended by cliffs.
Portreath is the best village in the area. It began as the playground of the Redruth Camborne
miners. Now it is slightly middle-class resort filled in summer with families on holidays. In the mid
19th century the small harbour bustled with sailing vessels.
Cornwall‟s mining land-scapes have been nominated for World Heritage status. At dusk, we climb
Cam Brea, an Iron Age settlement and hill fort close to Redruth. We count more than a dozen mine
chimneys against the evening skyline. Standing on top of Cam Brea, it is hard to believe that 150
years ago these relics of the mining industry shrieked with the sound of heavy machinery. Now,
except for chirruping of the birds, all is silent.
If you‟ve got the legs and the stamina there‟s no better way to get to know Cornwall‟s wild
Atlantic seaboard than to hike it. The National Trust looks after 260 km of Cornish coastline, sand
dunes and sheltered bays for walkers. On a breezy day with the sun flitting in and out of clouds, we
take the local bus from Redruth to St Agnes and hike 12 km south to Portreath.
The 18 km cycling trail is the best in that part of the country. It takes you from Portreath in the
west to the river at Devoran in the southeast. The path follows the tracks of the horse drawn
tramways that once hauled ore to the ports.
Surfing is popular on the beaches of west Cornwall. There is always a hardly group of surfers in the
waves in all weather. New quay is the surf capital but there are plenty of good beaches north
towards Padstow and south to St Ives.

It was takbiran night. It was also my birthday, and nothing happened. Or I had thought nothing would
happen, but I was wrong.
That night, I was watching television with my family when I heard someone lit fireworks in my front yard. I
peeped trough my window glass but could see nothing. It was very dark outside. Then I thought it had to be my
cousins who lit the fireworks. Then I plopped down on my sofa again and tried to concentrate on the television
since my mind raced with disappointment that no one gave something special on my birthday. I shrugged, it was
almost the end of the day and I became pessimist. Five minutes later my mobile beeped. It was a text from my
friend asking me to come out. Wondering what was going on, I grab my jacket and hurried to the front door. I
was surprised to see her bring a bag full of firework and fire drills. Next I was surprised to see my other friend
come out from the darkness. She brought a beautiful birthday cake on her hands. Oh my God! I shrieked. Then
they gave the cake to me who was too stunned to say anything. I realized I was blushing furiously because my
whole family was watching. Not to mention my neighbors too!
A plain day, or I thought it was before, turned out to be one of the greatest moment in my life. I didn‟t
even know how to describe what I felt. Happy was the simplest word.
