IMMOBILISER SYSTEM (w/ Entry and Start System)

REGISTRATION
CAUTION:
As weak radio waves are emitted from the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly, if a pacemaker
is being used, be sure to read the pacemaker instruction manual.
• People with implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac resynchronization therapy-pacemakers
or implantable cardioverter defibrillators should maintain a reasonable distance between
themselves and the entry and start system antennas. The radio waves may affect the
operation of such devices. If necessary, the entry function can be disabled. Ask your dealer for
details, such as the frequency of radio waves and timing of the emitted radio waves. Then,
consult your doctor to see if you should disable the entry function.
• User of any electrical medical device other than implantable cardiac pacemakers, cardiac
resynchronization therapy-pacemakers or implantable cardioverter defibrillators should
consult the manufacturer of the device for information about its operation under the influence
of radio waves. Radio waves could have unexpected effects on the operation of such medical
devices.
• Ask your dealer for details for disabling the entry function.
1. DESCRIPTION OF CODE REGISTRATION
HINT:
• Registering an ID code enables the entry and start function, wireless door lock control function
and immobiliser function to be operated.
• Code registration is needed when the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), ID code box
(immobiliser code ECU)*, steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) or electrical key
transmitter sub-assembly is replaced with a new one.
*: w/ ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)
• Once any of the following components has been registered to the vehicle, it cannot be used in
another vehicle.
– Electrical key transmitter Sub-assembly
– Certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly)
– ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)*
– Steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU)
*: w/ ID code box (immobiliser code ECU)
• This vehicle does not have a key slot. Therefore,
*2 hold the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly near

3. PART REPLACEMENT AND KEY REGISTRATION PROCEDURES
(a) If a malfunctioning ECU is discovered through troubleshooting of the entry and start system,
use the ECU replacement and electrical key transmitter sub-assembly registration procedures
in the table below.
NOTICE:
• When the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, confirm that no
electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies have already been registered in the
certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly). If an electrical key transmitter sub-
assembly has already been registered or it is possible that the certification ECU
(smart key ECU assembly) is a used one, the electrical key transmitter sub-
assemblies will not be able to be registered.
• Once the registration operation has been performed on the certification ECU (smart
key ECU assembly), steering lock actuator assembly (steering lock ECU) or electrical
key transmitter sub-assembly, do not reuse these components. Since information
registered cannot be deleted, these components cannot be used for other vehicles.
HINT:
• The following procedures require the use of the GTS:
– New key ID registration
– Key ID registration
– Additional key ID registration
– Key ID erasure
– ECU code registration
• A maximum of 4 electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies can be registered (this includes
any electrical key transmitter sub-assemblies registered when the vehicle was purchased).
• Immediately after replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly), the GTS item
"A number of registered codes" should change to "0". If this item does not change to "0", the
certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) may have been registered to another vehicle. A
certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) which has been registered to another vehicle
cannot be used.
• Once any of the following components has been registered to the vehicle, it cannot be used
in another vehicle.

1. DESCRIPTION OF CODE REGISTRATION
The door control transmitter assembly has 2 codes: the key code (immobiliser code) and the
wireless code (recognition code). Both of these codes need to be registered. For wireless code
registration procedures, refer to the following procedures (Refer to Repair Manual, DOOR LOCK >
WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM (w/o Entry and Start System) > REGISTRATION).
For key code registration procedures, refer to the procedures below.
Key code registration is necessary when the transponder key ECU assembly or a door control
