Again good afternoon po sa lahat, before we start our discussion,

let me read to you a quotation from Carl Yung, a well known

psychologist. He said. “Wholeness is not achieved by cutting off a
portion of one's being, but by integration of the contraries.” I’ll
give you 2 minutes to internalize this quotation and later I will call
somebody to share his or her insights about the quotation.

can help in distinguishing kung sino ba talaga tayo. But, meron
That makes us whole.

There are times that
we need to integrate our subject in other learning areas. Kasi baka
ang bata, mayroong kayang ipakita if we try to expose our own
subject to the subject of others.

That’s why we have this session on Integrative Performance Tasks.

We will try to deeply understand that there are impossible that
can be made possible.
teachers. We try to integrate with other subjects pero sasabihin
natin, parang ang hirap, parang imposible.

Now we should start our discussion by citing some important

deped orders to make us aware that there is a need for subject
integration.

First is the DO 8, SERIES OF 2015. Assessment should be holistic

and authentic. Now this authenticity should be integral and varied
meaning, in all aspects of teaching and learning, authentic
learning must be the fruit of it. Ngayon, we will try to integrate
but we need to see first, baka pilit ang pag integrate, o baka
masyadong mahirap para sa bata. Then, that will be the purpose
of planning it.

Is performance task an assessment?

YES. Because, According to this deped order also, it defined the

words performance task. It is an assessment task. Wherein we
allow our learners to showcase their learnings in an authentic
way.

Matagal na itong pinag uusapan in the world of education pero
bakit may mga times that we tend to forget the importance of
integration in all our subjects? Kaya nga maganda na balikan natin
itong mga ganitong bagay so that we can be reminded of subject
integration.

So, pumasok ang pandemya. Nagkaroon ng mga changes when it

comes to education. Lumabas ang DO 31 nung 2020. Mas
hinighlight ang importance of INTEGRATION most specially sa
And it
also highlighted the importance of application to real-life
situation. Kumbaga, kung ang estudyante, maging guro, maging
doctor, maging tourist guide or other jobs in the near future, how
can he or she apply his or her learnings sa tunay niya kalagayan sa
buhay.

Bakit? Kumbaga ito yung sinasabing all
in one.

And therefore, we teachers are advised by this deped order to:

First, collaboratively design and implement performance tasks

that integrate two or more competencies within or across subject
areas.

We highlight the word collaboratively

Second, clear directions and appropriate scoring tools

Lastly, consider time and resources available to them
