The Link Adapter Housing
contains the Link Adaptor
and the Lifting Spring
Assembly.
In drilling mode, the Link
Adapter is held away from
the Load Collar by the
Lifting Spring to allow free
rotation of the Main Shaft.
When the Elevator is used,
the load is passed through
the Links to the Link
Adaptor and the Spring is
compressed.
This allows the weight to be
transferred to the Main-
Sh-a ft via the Thrust Plate
and- Load Collar.

op Drive - Alignment 1
The top drive has four independently adjustable sliding shoes. For
alignment, loosen the clamping bolts (1). Rotating the turn-buckles
(2) moves the pivot arms (3) which set the position of the Top Drive.
If the Top Drive is crooked, seen from the front, then the vertical
alignment cannot be adjusted via the pivot arms. For this purpose
the shims must be arranged in such a way that the off-set position is
compensated.
Top Drive - Alignment 2
The top drive has shims (1.3) for setting the play between the guide traveler and
the guide rails. The screws (2.4) must b,e loosened in order to remove the shims.
Shims, which have been removed, must be inserted again on the opposite side of
the pivot arm (5)..
