Mongolians eat meat all the time.

I disagree with this Mongolian stereotype because it is unhealthy to eat meat all the time however, they do eat
meat especially beef.
Animals (mutton, beef and goat) are the main source of sustenance for Mongolians. Vegetables are not a strong
element of the Mongolian diet as they are a nomadic people. This means they don’t have a fixed habitation and pack
up and move from place to place several times a year with their animals, rather than tend to crops. (Pullman, 2019)
However, cities in Mongolia are rapidly increasing and developing, so is people. Approximately 45% of the
country's population resides in the capital city of Ulan Bator (also called Ulaanbaatar), boasting a population of 1.34
million according to data from 2014. (Mongolia Population , 2022) Thus, people move to cities and now done with
nomadic life in countryside. According to a YouTube content dated back in June, 2021 (link below), those who are
born and raised in the city do not eat meat as much as the countryside Mongolians do. Mongolians in the city has
been health conscious thus they properly keep attention to their diet and to not eat meat 3 times a day.
Another one can see is the average weight of a Mongolian per year vs the average weight of Americans per year

Retrieved from eliteprospects.com/team/12200/mongolia/physical-stats Retrieved from https://news.gallup.com/poll/328241/americans-average-weight-holds-steady-2020.aspx

The average weight of U.S Adults in 2018 is 176 pounds or 80kg and the average weight of adult Mongolians in
2018 is 72kg. Comparing these two numbers, we can see that a certain American individual weighs more than a
Mongolian individual. Talking about their food intake, it is generally known that Americans do not eat so much meat
but weighs more. So, if a Mongolian weighs less, then their food intake is lesser than that of American. We can say
that their meat intake is limited.
Also, according to Natalie Popow’s journal entitles “10 Reasons Why Mongolia Should Be On Your Bucket List”,
Mongolia’s tourism industry is still very young but it is growing. Last year it received 529,000 tourists, up by 11%
from the year before. It is also a short season (May-September) because the infrastructure isn’t in place yet for
tourists to travel safely outside of Ulaanbaatar during the harsh Winter months.
With this number, it is highly anticipated that Mongolians have adapted their tourists’ culture and lifestyle.
According to the girl in same YouTube content above, she studied in South Korea and somehow adapted their
lifestyle. Thus, when she goes home in Mongolia, her friends somehow adapted to her.
In conclusion, Mongolians eat meat but not all the time. They value their diet. The availability of meat in the
countryside gives the assumption of Mongolians eating meat all the time but it is not true. Historically, it is true but
now, it’s not.
