“We have nothing to lose, but we have so much to gain,” school head Lisarie T. Bargayo
expressed as the newly-established school of Cluster 6, N.G. Bacaro Sr. National High School was
visited by Information and Communications Technology Service (ICTS)-EdTech Unit Head, Mark
Anthony Sy for the observation of pilot schools for digital education in the Philippines.

The event was dubbed as Kapehan with Mark Sy with Ricardo C. Guinto, Chief ICTU-DepEd Region XI
who recommended the school after validating it in the DepEd Computerization Program (DCP) package.

“I felt challenged upon knowing that we will be recommended as one of the pilot schools in digital
education, but I am also doubtful with our capacity as a new school. However, my hesitation was
overwhelmed by the future I visualized for the community of Angalan if the school becomes a digital
school,” said Mrs. Bargayo.

During the visit, Mr. Sy informed the school that in the memorandum to be published, teachers’ training
will start by January 2022 and the implementation will be for S.Y. 2022-2023 as the school will be a
showcase for Educational Tourisms- a center for tourist visitations for its Digital Education.

“Through digital education, we would be able to produce globally competitive learners. This program will
develop our skills in providing more engaging, differentiated, and self-directed learning activities using
globally acknowledged learning platforms,” Frile Ann R. Bacog, BNHS teacher expressed.

The said program will provide each student a complete package of cellular phones (android) with
complete apps intended for learning and radio, for radio-based instructions.
