The document discusses instructional activities that a physical education teacher could use to teach different educational philosophies. For each philosophy, it provides an example instructional activity and strategy that could be used. The philosophies discussed include realism, idealism, pragmatism/experimentalism, perennialism, progressivism, essentialism, existentialism, and reconstructionism. For realism, an example activity is reading an article with a learning journal. For idealism, it is a simulation activity using share-pair-circle strategy. And for pragmatism/experimentalism, it is a role playing activity using think-pair-share strategy.

Create one instructional activity on every philosophy that we discussed.
Philosophical Foundations of Instructional Activity
Education
As a P.E Teacher, if I will be using Realism in
REALISM teaching probably one of my instructional activities is Reading an Article with the use of Learning Journal/ Reflection Log.
In teaching Physical Education, we teach about the
history of a certain sport (basketball and etc.) P.E teachers also teach about the history of the certain music, the evolution of dance and arts. So as a realist, this would be a great help in discovering hidden ideas of the learner. As what the nature of realism asserts that investigating and reasoning are important in the real world of experiences.
Also, with the use of the Learning
Journal/Reflection Log this will allow learners to write/record their reflection on the topics discussed in class. At the same time, it will improve their writing skills. Express their thoughts/ideas well and reflects on insights learned in class.
As a P.E Teacher, if I will be using Idealism in
IDEALISM teaching probably one of my instructional activities is Simulation Activity with the use of Share-Pair- Circle strategy.
Let’s be in class, learners will do the simulation
activity wherein learners will imitate the dance of Lapay Bantigue in P.E class.
In this activity, the class will be divided into groups
of equal number. Next, let them form two (2) circles. Then teacher will give them an activity that the learners will do, then let them share their ideas. This activity will promote interpersonal skills. Enhances their oral communication skills and develops greater interaction and character development.
As a P.E Teacher, if I will be using PRAGMATISM/
PRAGMATISM/ EXPERIMENTALISM in teaching probably one of EXPERIMENTALISM my instructional activities is ROLE PLAYING with the use of the THINK-PAIR-SHARE strategy.
In Health class for instance. Learners will do role
playing about the First Aid. This is an activity where students team up to do role playing and later on answer a question given by the teacher. The results of the discussion shall be shared in class.
This activity will improve the interpersonal
relationships of the learners, shares their ideas with other members and comes up with a group generalization.
As a P.E Teacher, If I will be using
PERENNIALISM PERRENNIALISM in teaching probably one of my instructional activities is LECTURE METHOD with the use of STRUCTURED FRAME strategy.
I use structured frame activity even though its
solely lecturing so that it can help students to speak more and interact better. It encourages learners to recite using a structured frame. It improves communication skills and increase greater participation in class.
As a P.E Teacher, If I will be using
PROGRESSIVISM PROGRESSIVISM in teaching probably one of my instructional activities is I will be INTEGRATING TECHNOLOGY at the same time WATCHING DOCUMENTARIES most especially in teaching in Arts and P.E.
I will also use the REBUS strategy wherein
students will illustrate ideas based on the content of the lesson. It will improve their creativity and expresses ideas through illustration.
As a P.E Teacher, If I will be using
ESSENTIALISM ESSENTIALISM in teaching probably one of my instructional activities is doing RECITATION. Where teachers are giver of the knowledge.
Teacher can also use the Amazing Notes strategy
wherein students can record important notes, improve memory and retention, and get relevant ideas.
As a P.E Teacher, If I will be using
EXISTENTIALISM EXISTENTIALISM in teaching probably one of my instructional activities is GROUP DISCUSSION with the use of GMA (Group Mapping Activity)
This activity increases critical and creative thinking
of the learners. Enhances visual-spatial intelligence and builds interpersonal skills.
As a P.E Teacher, if I will be using
RECONSTRUCTIONISM RECONTRUCTIONSIM in teaching probably one of my instructional activities were COOPERATIVE, COLLABORATIVE LEARNING and INTEGRATED ACTIVITIES with the use of WRITE, SHARE, RECORD AND SUM IT UP strategy.
Learners generate as many ideas as possible in the
class. Shares their thoughts on the given concept and improves communication skills.
