Some people think this will lead to a breakdown in family relationships and communication.

To what extent do you agree?

The dawn of twenty first century has witnessed an unprecedented innovation in the field of technology
making it easier for an individual to have their own piece of modern technology. Some argue that such
advancement will create an imbalance in family relationship. However, I moderately agree with the view
because technological evolution has blessed us with improved communication and keeping us
connected despite the drawbacks it has brought.

Traditionally, long distance communication was made through either letters, emails or fax. The advent of
technology has transformed our lives and dealing with others in good ways. It is easier and cheaper to
contact and locate family and friends. Moreover, some technologies facilitate to see and talk with the
other person or group at the same time. In addition, we are informed on daily basis about the news
birthdays, graduation and anniversary or any other event. For Example, in whatsapp a family group can
be created where they can easily communicate and share pictures or videos with each other despite the
distance. Nonetheless, these method makes the relationship stronger amongst the family.

On the other hand, some opine that excessive use of technology has weakened family relationship. It is
true that people are aware of each on statuses on daily basis but they may overlook the emotions due to
negligence of their presence. Furthermore, less face to face communication may deteriorate their self
confidence to speak in public because they interact through devices.

All in all, contemplating the pros and cons of these phenomena simultaneously, I would say it depends
upon the person utilizing these states of art of technologies. If it is being used wisely then the benefits
will outweigh the devastation such technology may cause
