1)- A company has 3 bulldozers, 5 loaders and 4 trucks. How many
ways can we select one of each machine?

2)- An exam consists of two questions. The first contains 3 sub-


questions and the second contains 5 sub-questions. How many
ways can a student select one sub-question?

3)- In how many ways can an engineer assign 3 of his 5 available


assistants to supervise the work shifts (one for each shift)?

4)- How many passwords can be created using 3 non-repeated


CAPITAL letters {A-Z} and 5 non-repeated digits {0-9}.

5) Repeat problem (4) if the selection can be repeated.

6) A license plate begins with three letters selected form {A, B,


C, D, E } and three numbers from {1-9}. how many different
permutations of licenses can be created if no letter nor number
are used more than once?

7) Repeat problem (6) if the selection can be repeated.

8) A box contains 12 red balls and 8 black balls. How many ways
you can select:

a- 3 red and 3 black balls without repetition?

b- 3 red OR 3 black balls without repetition?

9) If we have 5 odd numbers and 6 even numbers. How many ways


can you select:

a- 2 odd and 3 even numbers without repetition?

b- 4 odd OR 2 even numbers without repetition?

10) If a company has 6 engineers and 5 technicians. A shift of


engineers and technicians is required to have 3 technicians and
at most 2 engineers. How many ways are available to do that?

11) A bag contains 15 balls numbered 1-15


a- Write the event A of getting multiples of 5 and P(A)
b- Write the event B of getting multiples of 3 and P(B)
c- Find 𝑃(𝐴̅), 𝑃(𝐵̅ ), 𝑃(𝐴 ∩ 𝐵), 𝑃(𝐴 ∪ 𝐵)
d- Are A and B independent, or mutually exclusive events?

12) In 1st term exams, if the success percentages in maths was


90%, production was 80% and for both subjects was 65%. If one
student is selected, what is the probability of;
a- the student successes in at least one subject.
b- the student successes in at most one subject.
c- the student doesn’t success in any subject.
13) Two students joined statistics exam. If the probability of
success for both of them are 72% and 80%.
a- What is the probability that both of them pass the exam
b- What is the probability that at least one passes the exam

14) A company announced for jobs. The candidates were arranged


according to the following table;
