Broken Bay Sport and

Recreation Centre
Monday, May 1, 9:30 p.m.
We’re on a three-day class trip to Broken Bay Sport and
Recreation Centre. The center is about 35 miles (56 km) north
of Sydney, Australia. It’s on the Hawkesbury River, and you
can only get here by ferry. This
afternoon, my classmates and
I went for a hike. We started at
Broken Bay Beach and followed
Cory a camp trail to the bushlands.
We saw a brown wallaby on our
hike. Wallabies are like small
kangaroos.
Tuesday, May 2, 5:30 p.m.
Today, my friend Dan and I learned how
to rappel. Our guide, Nate, gave us
helmets, gloves, knee pads, harnesses,
and ropes. He taught us how to control
our ropes and go down slowly. It took
us a while to get the hang of rappelling,
but once we did, we got really excited!
Wednesday, May 3, 4:30 p.m.
I didn’t go swimming in the
Hawkesbury River this morning. It’s too
cold in May! I hung out with my friends
instead. Now, we’re on the ferry and I
don’t want the trip to end!
