Abstract
This journal article makes an initial step towards explained the influence of power
and politics in organizations. According to (omisore) organizations are made up of
two types human and material resources. To change material resource in to
endproducts, choices is the initial point to decided what types of product will be
produce. to decide this, you must have to hold same political power to convince
others in your choice, otherwise no one to accept your choice. he also suggested
that anyone can understand organizational politics, Evena person to survival in the
organization.

Comment; - He clearly indicated that what we see in organizational politics and


influence of power.

Key words; influence,power, politics,organization,human resources.

1.Introduction

In this part According to (omisore) organization are organized by agreement of


organized bodies or system instead of any other methods, however organizational
life is under control by political interactions. According to (Bacharach,et al,1980)
politics in organizations involves the tactical use of power to retain or obtain
control of real symbolic resources.He also take the study of blau and
schenheor(1964) the two assumption of political interpretation of intra-
organizational politics.
 Ignoring political conflict and other tension and
 Organizations are not inherently a political in nature rather they may be
an artificial of a given theoretical perspective.
Furthermore, Dahrendor (1959), pointed out the three grouped to the development
of a political analysis of organization the working group, interest group and
coalition group. for this point he believed that individual become political in
groupand that groups are capable of effecting and often do effect organizational
structure.

The problem is clearly stated that political power in an organization is the impact
of organizational structure,

The Author objective of this journal article was to see the influence of power and
politics in the organization.

4. review of literature

4.1. subjective nature of power

According, to (omisor) the subjective nature of power tells as how people perceive
in mind and how the actual or the exact reality of power in the existing situation
and the manager take the advantage to exaggerated the power by blutting and the
influence of subjective factors including ethical and moral
consideration(obisi,2003)

4.2 the use of power

The writer clearly stated the use of power and what the consequences ineffective
use of power and how inexperienced manager those who lack self-confidence to
use of power and the effect of power in organization and the manager decision is
reversed by different stakeholder like labour relation,arbitrator, the power of public
pressure and how punishment decision is difficult in the organization.

4.3 Bases and sources of power

Bases of power

In this part the writer tells us there are two different types of power.the base power
and sources of power.the difference is important because it shows clearlycompare
and contrast the authority influence one another.According to (omisor) the base
power shows whatparties control that enables them to manipulate the behavior of
others, where as the source of power we are speaking of how parties come to
control the bases of power.

He also pointed out six major bases of power,According to French and revan
(1954) distinguish accordingly. The coercion, experts, rewards, legitimacy, referent
power and information power, in addition to this etzioni(1961) provides a better
starting point the base power in three different ways.Coercive power,
Remunerative power, normative power and he also add one the knowledge power.

The methods used to gather the data are clearly explained in questioner and
different source of data used.The table were used, the relationship of source and all
possible testes were given.

The summary were clearly stated that power and poltics in organizations are intra-
organizational relation. In addition to that individual and sub group acquire,
amination and use of power, coalitions crystalize and bring to theforegroundof the
conflicting of interest of the organization to protect themselves from encroachment
by opposing coalitions.

Organizational politics is normal and every individual who works in organization


should play politics,however, positive organizational politics should be played
while negative politics should be limited.

Conclusion

The conclusion suggest that every organization must beaware of coercive power
and the negative impact of organizational politics and also survival in an
organization is a political act.

Politics in organizations involves the tactical use of power to train or obtain control
of real or symbolic resource.

This article has been suggested that, barging and communication have been
recommended as a ready tool to reduce unhealthy organizational power.
