Collaborative effort to increase availability, access, and use of timely, relevant, and
reliable health information through shared agreement on goals and coordinated
efforts and investments in health information and knowledge system.

Purpose of Health Information System


to enable decision-makers at all levels of the health system to identify problems and
needs

Make evidence-based decisions on health policy

Allocate scarce resources optimally

Course Description
The course deals with the concepts and principles of Healthcare, Healthcare
Delivery Systems, and Health Informatics in conjunction with the practice of MLS.

Data Privacy and Confidentiality are also given due emphasis in this course as the
profession of MLS entails the collection, processing, and use of sensitive personal
and clinical information from patients and health institutions.

The University of the Immaculate Conception is a Catholic School that is an


instrumentality of the Congregation of the Religious of the Virgin Mary that aims to
