Cultural Fest
RULES AND REGULATIONS

GENERAL RULES
1. Each student can participate in 3 events only.
2. Videos, entries or uploads sent after the due date
will not be accepted nor judged.
3. Make sure to mention the student’s name, event
and class while sending the videos.
4. Pre-recorded videos for all the events should be
continuous, no cutting or editing of videos will be
accepted.
5. The best entries will be awarded.
6. Judges decision will be final. No appeal questioning
their validity will be entertained
7. Vulgarity in any form is strictly prohibited. Any
violation in the act will result in immediate
disqualification of the participants.

‘Tell a Tale’ - Literary
1. Poetry & Recitation (Kannada/Hindi/ English/ French)
 An online event
 Topic will be given on spot
 Not less than 80 words
 Participant should write in their selected language and recite the
poem through a video
 After writing the poem, video should be sent within half an hour time
 2 selected entries from each class will be sent for final judgment

 Short Story & story telling (Kannada/Hindi/ English/


French)
 An online event
 Topic will be given on spot
 Minimum 300 words
 Participant should write in their selected language and tell the story
through a video
 After writing the story, video should be sent within half an hour time
 2 selected entries from each class will be sent for final judgment

‘Felicia’- ART
1. Pencil Sketching, Digital Art, Water/Oil/Acrylic Colour
painting
 Students can use A-3 size chart paper (painting).
 Students can use A-4 size paper (sketching/cartoon drawing).
 Students can use any drawing application (Digital art)
 This is a live event hence; students must be prepared for the same.
 Duration- 1 hour
 Students must click two pictures of their drawings. (One photo should
be the student holding the art work, and the other should be art work
alone).
 Students must mention their name, class, section on their front side
of the drawing
2. Rangoli/Pookkalam Competition
 THEME- Will be given later.
 TIME LIMIT- 60 minutes.
 MATERIALS- fresh flowers and petals/ grass/ natural material/ colored
powder/dal/rice etc. should be assembled and kept ready before the
competition.
 Stencils are not allowed.
 Drawing any Idol on the floor isn’t allowed.
 Pictures of the rangoli/Pookkalam and student standing next to the
rangoli /Pookkalam should be clicked and sent to the provided e-mail
ids.
3. Photography
 3 participants per class.
 Only one photo should be submitted.
 Edited photos will not be accepted. (Do not use Photoshop, light room,
etc.)
 Black and white photos are not allowed.
 Send the original image in JPEG format.
 Both DSLR and Phone photographs are allowed.

4. BEST OF WASTE
 Participants will be given 1 hour time to show their creativity and talk
about the same. During the entire competition, the participants should
be under the camera frame. Recordings will be done via google meet
 Waste material could be of anything like tetra packs, bottles,
newspapers, old utensils, jute material or any second-hand items that
otherwise would be thrown away.
 The material (work) would be rejected if not found to be a waste product
or second-hand item.
 Semi-finished model or matter would be accepted from participant in the
competition
 Participants will be judged on their Creativity, Utilization of Resources,
Artistic composition & design, Eco-friendly rating, Utility of the Product
and Overall presentation.
 No mobile phone or Internet would be allowed at the time of Competition.
 By participating in this competition, the contestant agrees to accept the
terms and conditions of the competition.
‘Sargam’ - Music Competition
Indian Classical song, Indian Film /Folk, Western Song
 Duration – song should not exceed 2 minutes
 No editing is allowed
 Resending after due submission date will not be entertained.
 Instruments can be used but, the final judgement will be made based
on singing only.
 Regional languages are also allowed.

‘Tapping Feet’ –
Dance Competition
Indian Classical Dance, Indian Film /Folk, Western/
Contemporary/Hip-Hop
 The time limit is 2 minutes.
 Props are allowed.
 Video must be continuous- no editing (No cutting and merging is
allowed)
 W estern:
 Can be Jazz, Ballet, and Hip-Hop, Contemporary etc. No Indian songs
are allowed.

‘Talk with confidence’ –


Speech Competition
1. Speak your mind
 An Online event
 Photograph will be shown on spot
 3 mins preparation time
 Speech time limit is 1.5 – 2 mins.
 Maximum 3 participants from each class

2. The actor in you


 The time limit is 2 mins.
 Act a scene
 Movie scene can be from Hollywood and from any Indian languages
 Avoid controversial scenes
 Props are allowed.
 Video must be continuous- no editing (No cutting and merging is
allowed)

Just beat it - Instrumental


1. Indian/Western
 The time limit is 2.5 mins (maximum).
 Participants are allowed to use one instrument at a time.
 The performance should be video graphed and the video should be
taken in one shot, no editing or cut scenes are allowed.
 Participants are allowed to use both Indian and western instruments.
 Editing of the video will not be allowed.
2. Beat Boxing
 Video to be sent shouldn’t have any editing.
 1.5 to 2 minutes is the time limit.

1. What’s Trending- Make your reel from a reel
 The time limit is 2 mins.
 Props are allowed.
 5 students (minimum) must be part of the video.

2. Rhythmic Titans -Duet /Group Dance (Min 3 members)


 The time limit is 2 mins.
 Props are allowed.
3. In Sync-Duet /Group Dance (Min 3 members)
 Duration – song should not exceed 2 minutes
 Resending after due submission date will not be entertained.
 Instruments can be used but, the final judgement will be based on
singing only.
 Regional languages are also allowed.

4. Navarasa- Short film


 One team per class
 Minimum 7 participants per class.
 The time limit is 5 mins (maximum).
 The theme of the event is open, participants can choose the theme.
 This is a creative event; thus, all the creative ideas are welcome.
Editing is allowed.
 Usage of props is allowed.

5. Special Category- What you nurtured


 Send a 2 mins video if you have taken care of the nature
 Revived a lake, Participated in Waste management programs, Tree
plantation events across the city are few examples.
