WISE FEST 2023-2024 (CAT-2)

Category 2: (Grades 3, 4, and 5)

Event Participation Guidelines:

1. All events are optional, and students can choose from three sub-categories: Cultural, Visual
and Literary.
2. Within each sub-category, students can participate in any number of events.
3. Events with fewer than 5 participants will be cancelled.
4. Non-compliance with rules may result in disqualification.
5. Performances should respect religious and cultural sentiments.
6. Judges' decisions are final and binding on all.

I. VISUAL ARTS

1. DRAWING COMPETITION

 Size of drawing sheet - A3/A4 should be used for drawing.

 Medium of drawing- Crayons, pencil color, watercolor, and poster color can be used.
 No color papers / glitter glues etc. should be used.
 The topic will be given on the spot.
 The best artwork will be published in the school magazine.

EXAMPLE: SCENERY, HOUSE, FAMILY ETC...

2. MY CRAFT MY CREATIVITY COMPETITION (UPCYCLING CRAFT

COMPETITION)

 MEDIUM: Discarded objects or materials (e.g., Milk Bottles, Metal and Thin Cans,
Plastic etc.)
 The topic will be announced two days prior to the competition.
  Once the topic/ theme is announced, a participant will have to bring the materials and do
the craft work at school for the competition.

3. POSTER MAKING

 Participant can use Microsoft PAINT software to make the poster.

 The topic will be announced only on the day of the competition.
 The final competition will be held in the computer Lab.
 Participants are requested to save their work as .jpeg/jpg format with student name,
class, and house.

II. CULTURAL EVENTS

1.FOLK DANCE

 Time Limit: 3 minutes

 Only the traditional folk dance from any state of India is permitted.
 Cinematic Folk Songs will not be allowed.
 The lyrics of the song should be suitable for children.

2. CLASSICAL DANCE

 Time Limit: 5 minutes

 Participants are free to choose any traditional/classical dance style.
 Only traditional items will be allowed.

3.SOLO SONG (ENGLISH, HINDI , MALAYALAM)

 Time Limit: 3 minutes

 Theme: Any song suitable for children (Film songs are not allowed).
 Karaoke will not be allowed.

4.CARNATIC CLASSICAL VOCAL SOLO

 Duration of performance maximum 4 minutes. Time for stage setting is maximum 2

minutes.
 The participant need not carry his/her own Sruthi box / Tambura. School will do the
needful.
  Judgment is based on song selection (classical), vocal pitch, rhythm and overall
performance.
 Song selection can be any, but it should be purely classical.
 The organizers/Judges hold the right to interrupt or drop the performance any time
regardless of the time limit based on unacceptable performance level and/or breach of
rules of the event.

5.INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC

 Instruments need to be Strings, Keyboard or Percussion.

 Piano- (any music) duration maximum 3 minutes.
 Duration: 3 mins
 Instruments will be provided by the school.

II. LITERARY EVENTS

1. POETRY RECITATION – ARABIC, ENGLISH, HINDI, MALAYALAM

Duration: 3 mins.

2. QURAN RECITATION (Time Limit: 3mins)

 Students may choose any one of the following Surahs.

 1-Surah Al-Feel or Surah Al- Hamzah

3. ELOCUTION – ENGLISH /HINDI (Time Limit: 2 mins)

 Greeting & Introduction of the subject.

 Topic will be given earlier.
 Exposition of the main theme (Conciseness & Clarity of message, Originality/Points of
interest, Incorporation of Personal references & Quotations).

4. ROALD DAHL COMES ALIVE

 Participants can choose desired characters from Roald Dahl stories.

 Time limit: 2 mins
 Each participant should deliver a short monologue of his/her character.
 Sounds related to expressions and gestures are allowed.
 Exceeding the time limit will lead to disqualification.
 No static postures are allowed.
 Participants will be judged based on the character portrayed, creativity and presentation
skills.
