Source1: According to (Alfallaj, 2011). Reading comprehension is considered as the


essence of reading. In this instance, the students are required to be provided with an
extensive range of reading and writing activities that include effective reading
comprehension techniques. Modern literacy standards require that the students can self-
modify, self-manage and self-monitor as a means to become strategic readers who can
select information from the text.
Source2: Furthermore Commodari, E., & Guarnera, M. (2005). Attention plays a critical role
in information processing. Its adequate functioning is required for regular scholastic
progress.
Source3: Fluency is an important reading skill that helps you grasp what you're reading.
Children who are not fluent readers are unable to create connections and completely absorb
what they are reading.

contrasting kids' reading comprehension; they have different notions when it comes to
observing a student's reading difficulty.
Conclusion: Summarizing
Answer: This literature review was done to see what different researchers thought about
students' difficulties with reading comprehension and what conclusions they came to based
on their observations and studies.

Why is the topic of this literature review important and/or what should be the next
step of this study?
Answer: This literature review is important because it will determine the percentage of
students who have difficulty reading in a given school, whether it will affect their academic
performance, and whether they have a chance to improve their reading ability.
