Prototypes Developed in Fablab

Design Fabrication Description/ Purpose


Proposed Smart Grass Cutting Robot is an
autonomous remotely controlled robot
that can be operate up to kilometers away
from the navigator. It was proposed to be a
GPS guided Robot, so that the operator can
set the coordinates of the field where the
robot can cut automatically.

Robot Arm gripper is a robot designed to


hold and grip heavy objects such as rocks,
garbages and bottles. The main application
of this is to be installed for the Proposed
smart Grass cutting Robot.

3 Wheels Obstacle Avoiding Robot was a


project developed in FabLab Bicol by a high
school student of Bicol University with the
help of the Science Research Specialist of
FablaB. It is a robot that manage not to
bump any physical obstacle in front of it. It
automatically decides on its own without
human interference.

The Payong Kaibigan is an innovated


umbrella that contains devices which can
be used either separately or
simultaneously. The Payong Kaibigan can
be used at any given time and situation.
The device’s main feature is to record its
user’s path and surroundings on their way
to their destination through a camera
attached inside the handle of the umbrella.
This Product is also capable of charging any
gadget that can be charged through a use
of a charging port. It also has a digital
watch so that you can keep track of time
when you are using the umbrella. This
project came from the idea of CBEM
students for their undergraduate thesis.

Microprocessor Robot Projects were


projects output of electrical engineering
students who utilized the FabLab. These
project were the developed and fabricated
with the assistance of Science Research
Specialist of the laboratory. These robot
are remotely operated using phone
through Bluetooth connection.
Quad Crawling Robot "QuadBot" is a four
legged robot designed to walk on flat and
rough terrain such as rocky soil. QuadBot
has many application and can be used in
many form. A Quadbot has many
advantages compare to wheeled type robot
specially in a very rough path. This can be
attached to data collecting robot that will
undergo harsh terrain. It can be used also
as a landing gear of a Quad copter for
flexibility and efficiency of battery when
there is no need of flying.

CNC Machine Version 1 is a developed CNC


plotter machine. It has an X and Y axis. It
can draw different images generated form
a computer. It can interpret gcodes, the
same codes used in many CNC machines.
Version 1 can only draw images and limited
to X and Y plane. It was planned that the
next version should perform X,Y and Z axis
movement with multiple application such
as 3d printing, Laser cutting and wood
carving.

Automatic Dough Cutter was designed to


automatically cut the dough into equal and
even pieces. The idea was from the MSMe
client. Fabrication is pending because the
client doesn't confirm yet to push creating
the prototype.

Meat Tenderizing Machine is a machine


that helps soften the skin of the pork. This
was designed for mass production and
lessen the effort in tenderizing the meat.
The idea was formulated from an MSME
that used to manually tenderize the meat
using a hammer with spikes. Using this
design it will help them lessen the labor
cost and shorten the time in processing
their meat. The Fabrication is still ongoing.
FabLab outsource a Fabricator because the
machine was designed in stainless steel.
Instructional Box Conveyor Sorting
Machine is a machine that automatically
manage and arrange boxes based on its
type or characterstics. The conveyor can
sort boxes upto four types, such as tall and
heavy, tall and light, short and heavy, and
short and light. It is equipped with
industrial sensors and actuator that will
help the students to familiarize such
devices, to help them competitive not only
in theory but also in actual. This machine
was planned to incorporate two controls-
logic gate circuits and programmable
microcontroller "Arduino".
