I wish a very good morning to our school headmistress all my respected

Teachers, Parents, friends and school mates. Today i am feeling very lucky and
thankful that I am given a chance to give a speech on this Independence Day in
front of you all. Today we have gathered to celebrate Independence day in India
which is annually celebrated on 15 August every year. We all know that this day
is a proud movement for every citizen. Independence day celebration gives me a
sense/feeling of immense joy which is indescribable in words when I see our
tricolor national flag soaring in the wind high up.
British colonial rule began when the East India Company arrived in
India. History of slave India reveals everything that how our ancestors and
forefathers had worked hard and suffered all the brutal behavior of Britisher’s.
Our whole journey till independence took sacrifices of lives of many freedom
fighters and several decades of struggle. It was indeed a big moment for all the
Indians when somewhat between 14th and 15th August the treaty of Indian
sovereignty was signed. This was the time when George VI was ruling as the
king in Britain and Clement Attlee was their prime minister. In India Jawaharlal
Nehru became the first prime minister of independent India.
This is the day when we got freedom from shackles the British Rule after many
years of struggle by the great freedom fighters of India. This is the day which is
dedicated to our great leaders who have sacrificed their lives in getting freedom.
Some of the great freedom fighters of India are Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose,
Jawahar Lal Nehru, Dr. B R Ambedkar ji,  Mahatma Gandhiji, Bal Gangadhar
Tilak, Lala Lajpath Ray, Bhagat Singh, Khudi Ram Bose and Chandra Sekhar
Azad.
After independence we got our all the fundamental rights in our own
Nation (India/Bharat). These rights are due to great person Dr B R Ambedkar’s
immense hard work and we are proud that India has the best constitution in the
whole world. We all should feel proud to be an Indian and admire our fortune that
we took birth on the land of an Independent India.
Today we have freedom in almost all fields such as education,
sports, transportation, business, farming, etc just because of the years of
struggle of our forefathers. Earlier, people were not so free even they were
restricted to have rights on their own body, mind and many more. People were
not allowed to get education, eat healthy food and live normal life like others
have. Indian Citizens were slave of Britishers and forced to follow all the orders
of them. Today we are free to do anything just because of the great Indian
leaders who struggled hard for many years. We can never forget the freedom
fighters (Bhagat Singh, Khudi Ram Bose Chandra Sekhar Azad and other
known) who had lost their lives in their early age just for fighting for their country
India. Most prominent personalities who chiefly contributed towards gaining
independence and social rights to every citizen was Mahatma Gandhi (Bapu) and
Dr. B R Ambedkar (Baba Saheb).
This movement is celebrated same to same in schools, offices, hospitals,
universities and society. Some students participate in dance , some students
participate in singing and some in other activities. After  independence day
function prize distribution takes place.
We should feel proud to be an Indian and try our best to be best
citizen. If we stay united and honest no doubt this will be best nation in the world.
On this momentous day we should  take an oath of being highly responsible,
Honest and well-educated citizens of the tomorrow India.
