One of the most memorable dates in India's history is August 15. This is the day the Indian
subcontinent achieved independence after a long struggle. We fought extremely hard to
achieve our independence from the British. After independence, India became the largest
democracy in the world. This day is celebrated as a national holiday throughout the country.
On this special occasion, the Indian people remember the selfless sacrifices and unprecedented
contributions made by great men and women to achieve India's independence. Famous leaders such
as Mahatma Gandhi, Subhash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Jawaharlal
Nehru, Rani Lakshmi Bai, Mangal Pandey, Dada Bhai Naoroji fought courageously against the British.
Many of them have sacrificed their lives to make India free from the British rule. Their contribution
and efforts are remembered in India's independence history.
Besides celebrating, the younger generation knows the struggles of the people who lived at that
time. The country now looks to us in terms of how we perform our role. An air of patriotism and
national integration blows throughout the country on this day.
Schools and colleges also host a few cultural events, such as the national anthem is sung, speeches
are given on the famous leaders who fought for our nation, etc. This day showcases the country's
social, political, and economic developments around the world. Independence Day is celebrated with
great enthusiasm throughout the country.
Conclusion
Now we have the freedom to do anything because of the great Indian freedom fighters. We cannot
imagine this horrific moment which was difficult for our ancestors. They would be in our memories
and an inspiration to us forever. Now, after many years of independence, our country is on the path
to development in the fields of technology, education, defence, etc.
We must abide by our national anthem and our national flag. We must also demonstrate patriotism
like the people who fought for our country's freedom. It is our duty to protect the freedom of the
country. This day should not only be a ritual, but we should think about the poor who are not yet
free from poverty, hunger, and slavery. Freedom has brought joy to all Indians.
