Course Objectives:

 To introduce the concepts of various analog modulations and their spectral characteristics
 To understand the properties of random process
 To know the effect of noise on communication systems
 To study the limits set by Information Theory

Course Outcomes:

Upon completion of the course, students will be able to

1. Describe the concepts of amplitude modulation system


2. Summarize the concepts of angle modulation system
3. Solve communication engineering problems by applying the concepts of random process.
4. Compare the noise performance of AM and FM systems
5. Understand the principles of Sampling and quantization
6. Design the PCM systems

Modulation techniques, Spectral Characteristics, Random process and their properties,
Noise on Continuous systems, Sampling and Quantization.
