the proportions to be used in mixing or diluting, decontamination agents, and
antidotes incase of accidental poisoning.

C. Submit an application and safety plan which includes the following

information:

1. List of protective equipment to be used in the mixing and application

process.

2. Procedure to be followed for safely mixing the chemicals at the

jobsite.

3. Procedure for the application of the chemicals which minimizes the

approved by the Engineer. Remove this facility when work is
completed.

b. Place warning signs on the chemical storage area warning

workers that poisonous materials are stored within.

c. Do not store any materials within this storage area which are

by the Engineer may not be used.
.

PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.01 MATERIALS

A. Dursban 4TC:

1. Concentrate shall be diluted with sweet water to reach a final

concentration of 1% Dursban 4TC.

2. Other solutions may be used that are recommended by the applicator

and only after the written concurrence of the Engineer. Only soil
treatment solutions which are not injurious to planting shall be used.
Fuel oil will not be permitted as a dilutent.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.01 PREPARATION

ft.) of depth with 150mm (6 in.) wide trench (such as retaining walls) and as
per the recommendations of the manufacturer.

B. Application of chemical treatment shall be done with the shortest possible

interval between soil treatment and concrete slab pouring, in order to
preserve the quality of the treatment against deterioration from ultraviolet
radiation and heat.

C. Anyone who handles Dursban 4TC concentrate must wear a respirator (for
organic vapor, mist, dust and fumes), rubber gloves, fully protective clothing
including long sleeved shirt, and safety shoes during the dilution process.

D. Anyone who applies the diluted product to the soil must wear fully protective
clothing including a hat, a dust/mist mask or a respirator and rubber gloves.
