Aborigines

The first aborigines tribes went to Australia from Asia and India, about 50 thousands years ago. Aborigines
were only hunters and farmers. They used to be naked during all time because of their traditions and they
also used to use fire for a lot of things, for example: they used it to “keep clean” their tools and weapons, to
eliminate parasites and for rituals. They were divided in 400 different clans, each one with different
language, religion and culture, but the common thing is the flag: two lines, one black and the other red, nd
in the middle a yellow circle. We now a lot of things of them thanks to the rupestrian paintings that they
did in caves to represent their daily actions, or their rituals ecc. The first contact with the “advanced world”
was in the 18th century, but firstly it was very brutal: indeed the British colonizers killed a lot of aborigines,
in addition they bring with them also a lot of illnesses that decimated the 90% of the population. But the
England didn’t bring only bad things, in fact thanks to them the aborigines knew how to breed animals like
rabbits and sheeps. Over the years the farms were becoming more extended so the aborigines were forced
to live in small territories and, most of times, they became slaves for the “white people’ farms”. Some years
later, in 1967, the Australian government recognized to the aborigines the right of vote.
