In the figure above, you can see the 4 P’s of the market. It is very important for an
engineer to understand it, because it will become his basis in his business or firm. The
four P’s are product, price, place and promotion. In the market, these are the basic
information that needs to be studied because your business life will revolve around it.

In the figure above, it shows the sequence of Antonio and Samuel in establishing their own firms.
They were classmates and graduate and pass the board exam to become chemical engineer. They
work in different firms and they gained experience which will be useful as they go ahead. When
they have their reunion, they decided to establish their own firm and started to give their
contribution in building the company. But as they go through, they encounter problems like the
nature of market. The essence of this story for me is we will encounter problem as we go through
or as our goal gets higher. After passing the board exam, you will face the workplace and it will
not be easy especially for the beginners. However, the importance of this is experience that will
be useful in the future. If one or group will decide to build their own firm, it will be best to study
first how you firm will work or think of the struggles that will be encountered.
