9.1.3. Checking UPS Operation and Restarting the System (DAR-8000f Only)

When the connection between the MPC and the UPS control S/W and configuration check of
the UPS are completed, check the UPS operation using the either procedure described below:

After checking the UPS operation, return to the original status within 10 minutes irrespective of
whether the UPS operation is normal or not. If not, the system may be damaged.

■ Checking UPS Operation

The procedure differs depending on the type of UPS (made by APC or made by OMRON).

・In the case of UPS made by APC

1) Turn ON the power to the system (i.e., X-ray high-voltage generator and DAR-8000).
2) From the PCU Xcat "power control", check that the HV and DC power supplies are both
ON.
3) With the "power control" window displayed, turn OFF the power supply on the side of the
PSU rack. (See photo below.) (The power supply from "200 / 220 / 230 / 240 V" * to
100 VAC is turned OFF.)
4) Check that the HV and DC power are turned OFF. The UPS operates and an audible
warning is generated.
*The power voltage is different according to region.

・In the case of UPS made by OMRON

1) Turn ON the power to the system (i.e., X-ray high-voltage generator and DAR-8000).
2) From the PCU Xcat "power control", check that the HV and DC power supplies are both
ON.
3) With the "power control" window displayed, turn OFF the power supply on the side of the
PSU rack. (See photo below.) (The power supply from "200 / 220 / 230 / 240 V" * to
100 VAC is turned OFF.) The UPS operates and an audible warning is generated.
4) Check that the PCU and MPC automatically shuts down and the HV and DC power are
turned OFF 10 minutes after turning off the power supply.
5) Check that the UPS automatically shuts down 12 minutes after turning off the power
supply.

* The time in above steps varies slightly.
