3 Preparation for Setup
There are two type of DAR-8000i; one type has one LAN port and another type has two LAN
ports. The number of LAN port of DAR-8000i depends on the shipment time.
If there is only one LAN port, install an expansion LAN card to PC inside the DAR-8000 cabinet.
Refer to Appendix F "Installing the LAN Card" in "M517-E380 DAR-8000i Installation Manual
(Rev.B or later)" to check the number of LAN port and install it when the LAN port is only one.

4 MPC Setup
In order to set up the MPC alone, use the attached power cable.
The power requirement of the MPC is AC 100V. Make sure that the power source is
AC 100V before connection. If you connect the MPC to other than AC 100V, the MPC
will be damaged.
The attached power cable is not used after the completion of this setup. Disconnect
and keep the cable.
Check that the main switch on the back of the MPC is tuned OFF (0), and connect the MPC to a
commercial power source in the hospital (AC100V).
A display, keyboard, and mouse are not included in the standard equipment.
Connect those of the DAR-8000 to the MPC temporarily to perform settings described below.
This section descries the setup of the adapter driver.

Set up TH-101 room temperature gauges (made by Microtechno Corporation) and set them to
record data every 30 minutes.
■ Names and Functions of Parts
1 Power Switch
This is the TH-101 room temperature gauge's power switch. The knob of the switch is inside a
window on the side of the case. Slide it with the tip of a ballpoint pen or some other appropriate
implement.
2 Record Switch
Used as the execution switch for each mode.
3 Interval Switch
Used to change parameters for each mode.
4 Mode Switch
Used to switch between TH-101 modes.
5 COM Connector
Used to connect to the PC. Connect it with the cable provided and set times, measurement
conditions or retrieve data as necessary.
6 Alarm Output
If any two parameters out of the temperature, the humidity, or the dew point become equal to
previously set upper or lower limits, a contact turns ON, and an alarm is output.
7 LCD
Indicates the temperature and humidity. It also indicates the status of data recording, displays
messages indicating that, for example, the battery is being replaced or that measurement is in
progress, and indicates alarms (upper/lower limit).
8 Sensor
Incorporates temperature and humidity sensors.

8.5.1. Connecting the MPC and the DAR-8000 Power Transformer
This section describes how to connect MPC's AC power cable. Follow the procedure below
according to the UPS to be used.
- UPS by APC
With reference to the procedure described below, connect MPC's "AC power cable"
((11) ;502-24966-20) and "Ground cable, #10" ((12) ;502-24426-03) to the DAR-8000 power
transformer. The AC power cable's three terminals are respectively marked with the characters
"0V", "100V", and "G". Be sure to connect the cable correctly.
1. Be sure to check that the breaker of the power switchboard of the unit is
turned off to prevent electric shock.
2. Be sure to check that the breaker of each unit is turned off.
When it is tuned ON, be sure to turn it off before starting connection.
Check that the main switch on the back of the MPC is turned OFF (0). If it is turned ON,
be sure to turn it off before starting connection.

At startup, the automatic log transfer batch file (D8K_logcopy.bat) automatically connects the
MPC and the DAR-8000, and creates a folder named using the current day's date/time in the
MPC's C:\Diag\DAR8k folder. It copies the entire contents of the DAR-8000's C:\Diag folder to
this folder. This makes it easy, in subsequent maintenance, to refer to logs for days on which
problems occur.
(1) Close all applications and return to the Windows display. (If the auto log-off and auto
power-off settings are enabled, display the system settings window from the [Start] dialog
box and disable these settings. Refer to Appendix B "Various Basic Settings" in DAR-8000f
Installation Manual / M517-E383.)

This section describes the common tool used for all version of BBRM.
At the time of shipment of the MPC, the proxy connection conditions under the LAN
environment where MPC is installed are unknown. Therefore, the BBRM-Agent is unavailable.
When installing the MPC, the proxy connection setting may be needed before starting the
BBRM-Agent. If proxy connection is needed, set up the proxy connection settings by referring to
the section below according to the BBRM version installed.
To start the BBRM-Agent, double-click the "Start Agent" shortcut in the Start menu. As shown in
the following figure, the command prompt appears and disappears after a while.
After that, In the case of BBRM Version 2.3.0 or earlier, both the Axeda-Connector and the
Axeda-Remote will be available and started automatically at the time of starting the system.
In the case of BBRM Version 3.0.1 or later, only the Axeda-Connector will be available and
started automatically at the time of starting the system.
Refer to the table below for the function of Axeda-Connector and the Axeda-Remote.
Title Function
Axeda-Connector Used in BBRM "2.3.0 or earlier" and "3.0.1 or later".

outside via the BBRM-Server.
Double-click the "Stop Agent" shortcut in the Start menu. In the case of BBRM Version 2.3.0 or
earlier, both the Axeda-Connector and the Axeda-Remote, in the case of BBRM Version 3.0.1 or
later, the Axeda-Connector will be stopped.
The following command prompt appears and disappears after a while.
Both the Axeda-Connector and the Axeda-Remote will not be started at the time of starting the
system.
The operation methods of the tools except the common above differ depending on the BBRM
versions installed. Refer to either section in the table below according to the BBRM version.
You can see starting icons of various services tools, including the proxy connection conditioning
settings, for performing introduction, operation, and administration of the BBRM-Agent in the
Start menu of the MPC. (Refer to the following figure.)
