COURSE OUTLINE FOR CALCULUS I with ANALYTIC GEOMETRY

FIRST SEMESTER 2022-2023

INFORMATION ABOUT THE COURSE

Course Title : Calculus I with Analytic Geometry
Pre-requisite Subject : None
Course Code :
Course Credit : 4 Units
Contact Hours/semester : 72 Hours
Class Schedule : Monday to Thursday 8:00 – 9:00 AM
Group Chat : None
Course Objectives: The course equips the students with knowledge and skills about
lines and conic sections, limits and continuity of functions, differentiating and integrating
algebraic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric functions in one variable needed
in higher calculus. The course emphasizes enhancing critical thinking and problem-
solving skills related to analytic geometry and calculus. Students of this course are
expected to employ computer applications/software and other technological devices as
tools in learning and problem-solving.

Course Policies:
The following class policies are explicitly stated here for proper guidance and to help
protect fairness in evaluating the student's performance in this course.

1. Attendance – Students are expected to attend all class periods regularly. Going
in and out of the class during the session is discouraged. A student who incurs
absences of more than 20% of the total contact hours during the semester shall
fail and earn no credit for the course.
2. Punctuality – Classes should start on time, so students are expected to enter
the class as scheduled. The teacher will check attendance 10 minutes after the
scheduled class starts.
3. Cell phones – All phones must be turned off or in silent mode throughout the
class period.
4. Dress code – Students are expected to wear school uniforms with ID.
5. Proper grooming – Neatness and proper grooming must be observed in class.
6. Notebook, paper, pencil, and pen – A separate notebook for this class is
required. Must have own paper, pencil, and pen upon coming to class.
7. Assignments, homework, activity work, and Research Work – These will be
submitted on or before the set deadlines in the classroom or instructor’s office
but not at home.
8. No cheating in any form is allowed. If a student is caught cheating, his/her
paper/requirements will not be accepted or graded.
9. Examination Time. It is important that students must take the exams during
specified schedules. No make-up exams are allowed unless due for valid
reasons.
10. Ethics. The students are expected to exhibit proper decorum and deportment in
class.
