My reflection about the life of Mother Ignacia del Espiritu

Mother Ignacia was born on February 2, 1663 during the feast day of St.
Ignatiusof Antioch, a daughter of Jusepe Luco and Maria Jeronima. After
the death of her younger siblings, she became the apple of the eye in the
family. As she grew up, she has a strong faith and dedication to God that made
her torn between her desire to enter the retreat or obey her parents’ desire to
marry and have a family. Before she entered the retreat, she asked advice from
Pedro Murillo Velarde, after some days she already decided to obey her desire
and serve the Lord, making her leave their home and bring only needle and a
scissor, for she believes that she will work everything through the sweat on
her brows.
After knowing her life, I am amazed and inspired because of her dedication and
determination to do such thing or to follow her own desire, despite of the
consequences, she truly believes in herself and to the Lord God that He
will make a way. Mother
Ignacia also dedicate her life to Mother Mary, she lived up a life following Mother
Mary. I truly admire her, it is because of her being passionate and fearless, and
she has a strong-willed heart making things possible on her own way, and
through the sweat on hear brows.

To end this essay, I must say that Mother Ignacia enlightened and taught me a lot of
things. But her dedication, being passionate, determined, and strong-willed really
left a stain in my heart. As a student, in order for me to achieve my goals in
life I should have these values in life for me to function productively towards my
dreams. Instead of just procrastinating, I am now determined and inspired by the
life of Mother Ignacia and I truly believe that through these values, I can and I
will achieve my desires in my life that would make me even more humble in every
situation.

her.

Lord, our loving Father, you have given your handmaid Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo the ability
to enable to see the Holy Spirit's guidance. With the devotional name given to her, the gift of the
Holy Spirit became indelibly marked in her. I beseech you to grant our petitions by her grace and
mercy, and to bestow upon us constant docility to your will. Your Son, Jesus Christ, taught us to
follow and do your will in all things and in all events, God the Father. As for Mother Ignacia's faith
virtue, which was rooted in her at baptism, manifests itself in her nurturing years in her stance of
following and doing your God's will. Grant our prayers, particularly grace us with a constant
readiness to embrace your will. Jesus encouraged us to accept our cross and obey Him. Guide us to
bravely conquer the hurdles in our path, particularly that are within ourselves that keep us from
becoming your committed children. Mother Ignacia's faith compelled her to follow God's will every
time, and as her faith also gave her the strength to do it; to transcend all challenges that challenged
her from establishing the catholic community you Lord had called her to build. As Mother Ignacia's
life represented her threefold devotion. She rendered herself continually determined to embrace
God's will in her life throughout all times, in all ways, and under all conditions in expectation of God's
will in her existence.

I pray to you O’Lord that I may live a life where I can embrace and be able to courageously listen and
respond to all your calls in order for me to serve you by following your devotion with strength and
determination. Mother Ignacia urged her community to practice modesty and it was when she
willingly surrendered her status as superior more than ten years before her death that she
demonstrated the pinnacle of her own virtue. God, your humble servant Mother Ignacia overcame
the human proclivity for pride by choosing the path of modesty on her own volition. I pray to you
O’Lord that I may be able to follow her step, particularly to be the one who will learn from our
humble and simple Christ. God, by thy Divine Inspiration, encourage us to trust in your unfailing love
for us. Allow us to better understand the integrity of honest work and the worth of being poor with
your Son, Jesus Christ, by following the example of your handmaid Mother Ignacia. You encouraged
Mother Ignacia del Espiritu Santo to emulate Mary the ideal disciple's temperament, Heavenly
Father. Bestow us our requests, particularly the one of imitating Mary our Mother's virtues. Through
our dedication to the people, allow us to enhance Mary's discerning pose and Mother Ignacia's
virtuous servanthood. I love, admire, and honor you, O Holy Father, for the graciousness and gifts
you have lavished onto thy gentle handmaid, Ignacia del Espiritu Santo. I look forward to having the
grace I sincerely ask for, especially the strength to survive and thrive in your love, by believing in thy
mercy and love. This I ask through Jesus Christ your son, our Lord through the intercession of our
own Blessed Virgin Mary and the prayers of Venerable Ignacia del Espiritu Santo. Amen.
