WHAT IS ATHLETICS?

An athletics is a group of sporting events that involves competitive running,


jumping, throwing, and walking. The most common types of athletics
competitions are track and field, road running, cross country running, and
racewalking. 
HISTORY OF ATHLETICS?

Historians estimate that the origins of athletics (track and field events) can be
traced back to the 9th and 10th centuries B.C. in Greece. By the year 776 B.C.,
athletics had become popular enough that it was included in the first ever Ancient
Olympic Games held in Olympia, Greece.

WHAT IS THE TRACK AND FIELD?

Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running,
jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes
place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping
events.

Foot races
Speed racing is the most common type of foot race and dates back to the Olympic
Games of Ancient Greece.
 Speed walking
Speed walking has British origins, which date back to 1775, and also forms a part
of track and field. 
Jumps
Jumps are hands down one of the most intriguing Olympic events thanks to the
incredible skill sets of the participating athletes.

Throws
Throwing events are another track and field discipline that is held in the inner oval
of the track.
Lastly, there’s the decathlon, which includes 10 events. On the first day,
competitors push through the 100-meters, long jump, shot put, high jump and
400-meters. Then on the second day, they tackle the 110-meter hurdles, discus
throw, pole vault, javelin throw, and the 1,500-meters.

IN ATHLETICS?

The majority and highest value athletics equipment is used on the field events such
as javelins, discuses, shot put, hammers, throwing cages, landing areas,
jumping uprights, vaulting poles, take-off boards, sandpits plus all the
accessories that accompany these products.
