HELEN KELLER

DIED: JUNE 1, 1968
Reflection on Helen Keller’s story:

the true-to-life story of Helen Keller was one of the most inspiring stories that I

read. I was so amazed at what happened to Helen. if I was there at that time, I might
think that a deaf-and-blind person couldn’t be taught, but this opened my mind that
even the most impossible things can be made achieved. I was inspired and admired
her teacher, Ms. Johanna Mansfield Sullivan Macy, because of the great passion that
she has for teaching children with disabilities. even though during that time, Helen
was a kid that was very strong and very hard to teach, her teacher did not stop
teaching her the things she must learn and to have discipline and good manners.
As a future education teacher, I hope and pray that God will give me
strength and wisdom, that if God would let me teach a child the same as
Helen, I hope that I will be like Anne Sullivan. Even though it is hard
and I know that I will face different kinds of complaints from parents,
that they cannot understand what you are doing for their child, that will
not hinder my passion to teach and I will continue what I think will help
the child and open the minds of those parents that their child has the
potential to learn and to be successful in life.

Helen Keller once said “the public must learn that the
blind man is neither genius nor a freak nor an idiot. he
has a mind that can be educated it is the duty of the
public to help him make the best of himself.”
