Warm – up

*Write the word race on the board and elicit different kinds of activities that involve racing : running , cycling , rowing , driving ,
horse-riding , swimming , sailing.

*Ask students to think of different events for each kind of race . write on the board :

Driving : Formula 1

Cycling : Tour de France

Before reading
