II. Essay
1. Discuss or explain the following in an essay form in not less than 200 words what is
human act and act of man then differentiate the difference between human act and act
of man.
Human acts are fully thought out and considered, they have knowledge, intention,
acceptance for consequences. At a social level it is what you expect from legislator,
judges, planning committees, review boards. At an individual level you expect the person
to have had long deliberation over the issue. Acts of man could be accidents, rash
reaction, angry or drunken behaviour, just doing what seemed like a good idea at the
time, without really thinking about the consequences. Where exactly the dividing line is
between these two takes some judgement. Routine behaviour, “that just the way we do it
around here” at some point these excuses are rationalisations for what they know is bad
behaviour.
2. Explain and discuss the ultimate end of human act in your own perception and
knowledge (not less than 150 words)
what is the ultimate end? The Ultimate end is a concept in the moral philosophy of Max
Weber, which individuals act in a faithful, rather than rational, manner. So long as he/she
acts in a moral manner, any bad results, or negative ends, are not the responsibility of the
actor and ultimately a result of God's will or other forces.
Ultimate end is defined as the last and final goal of man. It further asks each of us the
question “What is the purpose of our living in this world?” Numerous philosophers had
given their answers, but it seems to be very vague and imperfect. Anaxagoras said that
man was created “to contemplate the sun”.
3. Write in an essay form the norms of human act through or by law and concience in not
