SEMI-LESSON PLAN IN ARTS 7

GRADE LEVEL: 7 QUARTER/DOMAIN

2ND QUARTER

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students will be able to:
A. Identify the Elements and Principles of Art in the Production of one’s Arts and Crafts inspired by the Arts o
MIMAROPA and the Visayas
B. Appreciate the importance of the elements and principles of arts .
C. Applied the elements and principles of art
II. SUBJECT MATTER
A. TOPIC WEEK 2: ELEMENTS AND PRINCIPLES OF ART IN THE PRODUCTION OF ONE’S ARTS
AND CRAFTS INSPIRED BY THE ARTS OF MIMAROPA AND THE VISAYAS
B. REFERENCES ADM MODULE GRADE 7 ARTS
C. LEARNING ACTIVITY SHEETS, CUT-OUT LETTER, TARPAPEL, PICTURES
MATERIALS
III. PROCEDURE
A. PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES
a. Prayer Ask somebody to lead the prayer
b. Greetings Tell them ‘GOOD MORNING’ and asked them how are they
c. Checking of Attendance Call their names individually and let them raise their right hand
d. Recall of the previous  What was our topic last meeting?
lesson  Can you give me the characteristics of arts and crafts in MIMAROPA and
Visayas Group of Island?
e. Motivation I have here a pictures and all you need to do is to identify what the
pictures have or decode. Choose if its color, line, balance, shape and
pattern. Put the names next to the pictures.
B. DISCUSSION TERMS IN ALGEBRA
A. Positive Integer Exponent (an,where a ≠ 0 and n is a positive
integer)
Example: 2●2●2●2 can be written as 24
base→𝟐𝟒→exponent

B. Constants and Variables

Example: 5 + 0 = 5 2 + 3 = 5 3+2=5

0+5=5 -3 + 8 = 5 -6 + 11 = 5

C. Literal Coefficients and Numerical Coefficients

Example: 3x2, 3 is called the numerical coefficient and x2 is called the
literal coefficient.
D. Algebraic Expressions, Terms and Polynomials

Examples: 4, xy, 8yz, 2πr, 8a

E. Number of terms, degree of the term and degree of the
polynomial

Any algebraic expression separated from another

algebraic expressions by a plus (+) or a minus (-) sign is
called a term.

Kind of polynomial according to the number of terms

Kinds of No. of Examples

Polynomial Terms
Monomial One -7x3 , 53, 8x, x
term 𝑥+𝑦
5x – 7y, , 3(y + z)
2
Note:
Binomial Two 𝑥+𝑦 𝑥 𝑦
terms is the same as + .
2 2 2

3(y + z) is the same as 3y +

3z because of Distributive
Property.
Trinomial Three x2 – 8x + 12, 3(x - y + z)
terms
Note:
3(x - y + z) is equal to 3x – 3y +
3z because of Distributive
Property.
Multinomial Four or x3 + 5x2 – 4x + 5
or more terms
Polynomial

Kind of polynomial according to its degree

Kinds of Polynomial in Degree Examples

Evaluating an Algebraic Expression
Steps to follow in evaluating algebraic expressions:
1. Substitute the given values for each variable.
2. Simplify first the expression within the parenthesis.
3. Perform all indicated operations and simplify the result.

C. Generalization  Differentiate the kinds of polynomial

 How can we evaluate an algebraic expression? What are the steps in
evaluateing an algebraic expression?
IV. EVALUATION
A. Tell whether each polynomial is a monomial(M),
binomial(B), trinomial(T) or multinomial (MT).

1. 3x
2. 12x + 3y – 1
3. 5y – 1
