Limos
Play by Chris David Lao | August 4, 2013

Nimfa, 28, pulubi, nagkukunwaring bulag
Mga taong dumadaan

Lugar:
Hapon. Sa labas ng simbahan. Sa may bangketa. May lata sa harap ng nakaupong pulubi.
Tumutugtog siya gamit ang harmonika. May mga dumadaan na mga tao. Paminsan-minsan sila

ibubulsa.)

(Mapapadaan si Rick sa harap ng pulubi. Mahahalata niya ang ginagawa nito. Mapapansin ni
Nimfa kaya’t pasimpleng hihirit ng…)

Nimfa: Limos… Palimos po… Maawa po kayo…

Rick: Anong palimos-palimos ka diyan? Hey! I saw you. I saw what you just did, Ate. Kitang-kita
ng dalawang mata ko. Binibilang mo yung mga coins.
Nimfa: Kuya… Konting tulong lang po…
Rick: Aba, aba, kunwari pa ‘to. Eh hindi naman totoong bulag. Style niyo po bulok. Nanloloko po
kayo ng kapwa. Masama po yun. At sa labas pa talaga ng church?
Nimfa: Eh, ano bang problema mo, ha? Naghahanapbuhay ako dito. Alis ka nga diyan.
Rick: See?

Rick: Yes!
Alison: Kanina kapa diyan ah.
(Nadaanan nila Alison at Rick si Nimfa. Nakita ni Alison na nagugutom ang bata. Titingnan

REFLECTION
QUESTION: What did the text “Limos” revealed about our society? Were there any situations that you failed to be
compassionate? How do you feel when others act compassionately towards you?
Alderite: The story revealed that there will always be people who are insensitive in other people’s
struggles, and will still act the same even if they knew the truth. Admittedly, there were some instances
where I failed to be compassionate due to ignorance or anger, but I reflect on my actions and thoughts once
I realize my mistake. When others are compassionate towards me, I feel grateful and I always make sure
to treat them with compassion in the future as well.
Valentin: The text "Limos" revealed that in our society we have to do things to an extent such as lying to
receive compassion from others and you can never be too sure about what a person is going through and
that they are not given the same opportunities like you. I never failed to be compassionate to others as I
know that everyone has different struggles. When people are compassionate towards me it makes me feel
like I should share the compassion to everyone else.
Lacaba: The story ‘Limos” shows how our society works. All of us have different stories to judge
each other. All of us just want to survive, some do things that are not fair for others and some work
really hard. For me, if you want to help, then help. No one is forcing you to do something towards
them as long as you know that they are harmless, just let them do what they want.
