8. Pre-Printed PIN Kits (PPKs) (Ref e-Circular No: CS&NB/CS&NB-DEBITCRD/14/2016-17 dated 25-Oct-
2016)
There might be instances where cardholders will face difficulty in generating the PIN/Re-
PIN through the above mentioned channels. To cater to such customers provision has
also been made at Branches to issue Pre-printed PIN Kits (PPK). The PPK
can be availed by the cardholders at any Branch instantly (i.e., at both home and
non-home Branches) over the counter by giving a written request. Due diligence of
the cardholder has to be carried out at the Branch where the request is being made.
It is emphasized here that PPK must be the last option for generating a PIN and all
efforts must be made by the Branches to educate and popularize the “Green PIN”
functionality as it is not only eco-friendly but also is a cost effective and time saving
initiative. Further, Branches are also advised to maintain the records of the PPK
issued to the cardholders including the application form obtained from cardholder for
issuance of PPK for future reference as per the extant guidelines. The functionality of
issuance of PPK has been made available to the Branches through Branch INB
interface. The issuance of PPK follows the maker and checker principle. Branches
have to indent for the PPKs through Branch INB interface. The process of indenting
PPKs also follows the maker and checker principle. The Branches are advised to
maintain sufficient stock of the PPKs at all times.

13. Debit Card Management Support Functionalities through Core Banking

With a view to provide operational ease for the operating Staff members at Branches
and to improve the turnaround time (TAT) for resolution process, all major Debit Card
Management Functionalities (like Blocking/Unblocking, enabling/disabling usage of
Debit Card over ATM/PoS/eCom or Domestic/International channels), have since been
made available in CBS. Please refer e-Circular No. CS&NB/CS&NB-DEBITCRD/3/2017-18
dated 8-May-2017, for details.
14. Renewal of Debit Card:
The Debit Cards whose validity is about to get expired will be renewed automatically
from back-end by the Bank. The renewed Card will have a new number (i.e., different
from the number of the existing Card) and will also have a new PIN. The existing Card
will not be renewed if, at the time of renewal,
a. The account is not KYC compliant or PAN Number/Form 60 not updated in CBS,
b. The status of the Debit Card is blocked,
c. The Card has not been used at all during the entire validity period, or
d. The primary account is inoperative/closed.
The renewed Card will have all the accounts linked as was with the old Card. The renewed
Card will be sent to the customer at the registered address. The renewed Cards will be sent
to customers 2 to 3 months in advance. Branches, therefore, should make all efforts to
update the address of the customer, after completing all the required formalities as per
extant instructions of the Bank, in the Core system so as to minimise return of Cards
from the customer’s address. The new Card will be issued in active mode i.e., the Card
can be used with PIN immediately after receipt even though the old Card is still active.
Customers, however, should be advised to destroy the old Card once the renewed Card
has been successfully used.
