ROLE DESCRIPTION

Job Role: Environmental Adviser

• Harbour Energy are seeking either an entry level advisor who we will train up in the role, or
experienced candidates with relevant experience as an environmental adviser who could be
considered for more senior job levels .
Purpose of Role: • This role will support one of Harbour’s operated hubs and would be responsible for
providing a broad range of environmental advice and compliance support to the business,
including permit and consent applications, management system development, audit and
incident investigations

MAE*/MATTE* and • Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory
HSE* Critical requirements, legislation and Harbour Energy HSES procedures.
Responsibilities: • Full training and mentoring on all internal systems and expectations will be provided.

• Onshore environmental support for offshore oil and gas production activities for one of
Harbour’s operated hubs.
• Provide advice to offshore on company expectations and legal compliance activities related
to environmental management.
• Prepare and write technical documentation to a high standard in support of business
operations.
• Ability to engage with the relevant Regulators in a proactive manner.
• Participate in environmental risk management activities (environmental aspects
Areas of Responsibility identification (ENVID), environmental assessments, planning, procedures and work
Competence Level: instructions), advising on pragmatic and effective risk management solutions in support of
operations.
• Support Management System development and administration.
• Review, analyse, and report on environmental data.
• Prepare and deliver training exercises, including awareness training on environmental
issues, standards and processes.
• Participate in environmental inspections, audits and incident investigations.
• Any other reasonable duty as per instruction by your manager.

• Experience of working in a team and collaborating effectively – preferably supporting oil


and gas operating assets but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills required for both internal and external engagement.
• Strong influence skills desirable to drive performance improvement.
• Motivated individual who will bring enthusiasm to the team.
• Willingness to problem solve and identify issues / propose improvements through

Qualifications
• A self-starter willing to take a flexible approach to work requirements with the ability to

• Membership with a relevant professional body and willingness to work towards Chartered
status is desirable.
• Audit and / or investigation experience is desired but not essential.
• Knowledge / awareness in the following areas:
• UK North Sea environmental legislation
• Emissions to air – flaring and venting, emissions control and monitoring of combustion
equipment, data management and analysis
• Water management
• Waste management
• Must hold UK required offshore qualifications or be willing to obtain qualifications to work
offshore in support of offshore site visits
