ACTIVITY 1: REFLECTIVE ESSAY

Direction: Read the questions below and write your answer on

the space provided.

In making movement sequences or dance repertoire, do you

consciously consider and utilize the elements of dance? What
are your realization and plans?

Since elementary, I remember myself in joining

school dance activities such as Buwan ng Wika, DepEd
Night, and many more. By those dances, I realize
that I/we are utilizing elements of dance even if I
am not familiar of that before.

Dancing is a form of art that involves the

movements of various body parts, particularly in
rhythm with music. When elements of dance are used
carefully and correctly, it gains depth and can
communicate with its audience.

In this lesson, I appreciate more why it is

important to use elements of dance in making
movement sequences or dance repertoire. Knowing and
appreciating these elements will be useful whether
discussing dance performances or when conveying your
own ideas through movement.
