Paper 3 : Applying Blockchain Technology

to improve Agri-food Traceability

Absract: Traceability plays a vital role in food quality and safety
management. Blockchain is a cutting-edge technology that has
great potential for improving traceability performance by
providing security and full transparency. Hence, this paper
maily reviews characteristics and functionalities of blockchain
technology, identify blockchain-based solutions for addressing
food traceability concerns, highlight the benefits and challenges
of blockchain-based traceability systems implementation, and
help researchers and practitioners to apply blockchain
technology based food traceability systems by proposing an
architecture design framework and suitability application
analysis flowchart of blockchain based food traceability
systems.
Blockchain-based traceability enables distributed data sharing.
Therefore, using blockchain are needed to validate transactions
and blocks. Therefore, storage capacity, scalability, stability and
processing ability are significant performance indicators. The
blockchain system needs low power consumption, high speed
and secure performance of blockchain-based quality
traceability system.
Conclusion: This research provides a timely review on the
applications of blockchain technology in sustainable traceability
management and makes valuable theoretical and practical
contributions by enhancing our understanding and knowledge,
providing agenda for further research, and advancing research
development and practice on blockchain applications in the
sustainable food traceability systems. However, as a
review-based research, this study has certain limitations. The
proposed frameworks and guidelines are conceptual based and
should be further tested and empirically validated. This
limitation provides opportunities for future research. For
example, future studies can adapt and evaluate the
blockchainbased traceability operational framework, design
architecture, analysis flowchart from multi-perspectives in pilot
applications. Specific attention should be paid to the hardware
deployment, storage capability, transaction speed, and the
overall performance of blockchain-based food traceability
systems. Future research should also consider how blockchain
technology could be applied to enhance the sustainability of
various agri-food chains.
Paper 5: Study on Internet of

Things based Applications

Abstract: This paper gives a detail analysis of various

applications based onInternet of Thing (IoT)s.This explains
about how internet of things evolved from mobile computing
and ubiquitous computing. It emphasises the fact that objects
are connected over the internet rather thanpeople. The
properties of Internet of Things (IOT) are product information,
electronic tag, standard expressed and uploading information.
It utilises the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) technology
and wireless sensor networks (WSN). IOT applications are
used in domains such as healthcare, supply chain
management, defence and agriculture.Lastly the paper
focuses on issues involved in IOT. Though it is aboon, IOTfaces
certain crucial issues like privacy and security.

CONCLUSION : Internet of things is a new internet

application which leads toan era of smart technology where
there exists thing-thing communication rather than human-
human communication. Through IOT, each and every object
in this world can be identified, connected and take decisions
independently. It has taken its birth from mobile computing
and ubiquitous computing. Technologies such as RFID,
wireless sensor networks and embedded systems play a vital
role in forming an IOT application. It is used in many
applications in healthcare, agriculture, smart buildings,
transportations etc. Though IOT is used in many domains, its
path to success is not smooth. Thereare many privacy and
security issues that need to be addressed. If these issues are
addressed, then Internet of Things will definitely be the
globalmantra.
