Teacher’s Activity Students’ Activity

A. Daily Routine
“Good morning class.” “Good morning, ma’am.”

“Arrange your chairs and pick up the pieces of (The students arrange their chairs and
paper and plastic wrappers. Throw it in the pick up the pieces of paper and plastic
trash can.” wrappers. They throw the trash in the
trash can.)
“You may take your seat.”
“Thank you, ma’am.”
B. Motivation
“I’m going to show you two pictures. Between
the two pictures, choose the one that you like
best. Only raise your hand to the choice that
you have picked. After that, I will call someone
to defend their answer. For example, reading
or writing? If you like reading, you will just “Yes ma’am.”
raise your left hand. Or if you prefer the choice
writing, you only raise your right hand. Then
state your reason. For example, I like reading
more than writing because I’m not talented at
the latter. Don’t worry, there is no right or
wrong answer. Are you ready?”

“Alright. Let’s start. Basketball or Volleyball?”

(Students raise their hand on the choice

“Why did you pick basketball / volleyball? they like best.)
Yes?”
(Students’ answer may vary.)
“Okay. What about subjects, English or Math?”

preference?”

“What factors come into play when you choose “Yes ma’am.”
based on your personal preferences?
(Experience, upbringing, trend, environment,
culture, etc.)”
(Students’ answer may vary.)
“I see. Very good, everyone.”

D. Lesson Proper
“Sometimes, our choices and preferences lead
us to become biased. It’s just like earlier when
I told you to choose what you like best. Do
you know what bias is? For those who don’t, I
will give you a hint based on these examples.”
Example:
1. Cats are not good for anything.
2. I like all the foods being served, but
there’s no greater than spaghetti.
3. I don’t like tumbang preso anymore. I
am already a teenager.

means that a person prefers an idea and generalization not from facts.”
possibly doesn’t give equal chance to a
different idea. It also refers to an author’s
expression of his/her own opinion on a
particular issue without examining and
presenting enough evidence. This arises from
the author’s thinking which may be influenced
by personal beliefs’, culture, attitudes,
preferences, and experience.”

E. Generalization
“So, what is bias again? Yes?”

“That’s right. What else?” “Bias means that a person prefers an

idea and possibly doesn’t give equal
chance to a different idea.”
