c. construct an impactful phrase or quotation about moral issues.

The teacher will ask the students about the following:
1. What is social issue?
2. Can you give an example of social issue?
3. Motivation
The teacher will give a situation to the students and ask the students to share their insights after
hearing the story.
Activity: The Boat is sinking!

SITUATION: Imagine that you are involved in a shipwreck situation - a boat has started to sink
in the middle of the ocean. Eleven people have jumped into a life-boat that has been designed for a
maximum of ten people only, and the life-boat is also starting to sink. What should the passengers do?
Throw one person overboard and save ten lives? Or stick to the principle of "do not kill", which means
that everybody will drown?

B. LESSON DEVELOPMENT
The teacher will discuss the definition of moral issues and will give examples of it.

MORAL what is right and wrong.


MORAL ISSUES are situations or actions that do not conform to the shared norms and values,
culture, and beliefs distinguished by a certain community or social setting.

An issue becomes a moral issue under the following circumstances:


• It is against the values, beliefs, and preferences of the people in the society.
• It involves behavior patterns that bring the individual repeatedly into conflict
with the society.
• It involves actions which have the potential to harm others or the persons
themselves.

C. GENERALIZATION
The learners will be asked what they have learned from the lesson. The teacher will solicit answer
from the learners.

The teacher will ask the following questions:

 State examples of moral issue and explain how can you contribute or help the society to lessen
wrong doings.

share it to the class.
