7.4) What is the minimum depth that should have the rack in centimetres (40 cm, 60 cm, 80 cm, 100 cm or 120 cm),
if the server is 30-inch (30’’) deep? Why? (0.6)
8) We must purchase=buy a brand-new, top-notch rack server which supports a total of 24
SAS hard drives hot swappable (hot swap). Of these 24 disks, we can configure up to 3
disks as standby (hot spare). The hard drive model you want to buy has the following specs:
10TiB and a price of 500 €. Propose=suggest the appropriate=suitable RAID system for the
following practical cases, and indicate the maximum number of disks that can be purchased,
the useful capacity for the user (logical capacity), the cost of the disks in €, and finally, the
number and order of then disks that could fail=crash until all data is lost:
8.1) Invest in the disks as little money as possible (cheapest option), so that, if 1 disk crashes, it will not lose data (in
other words, fault tolerance is crucial=important=key). Moreover=What is more=In addition, it’s
compulsory=mandatory=obligatory to use 1 spare disk to automatically replace the future disks that could
fail=crash. (2)
8.2) Get=Obtain=Achieve=Reach the greatest=largest useful capacity (logical capacity) whit the possibility of 1 disk
crashes=failures without data loss at the same time (fault tolerance is required). In addition, if 2 disk fail=crash,
2 spare disk will be used to automatically replace the crashed disks. (2)
8.3) Get=Obtain=Achieve=Reach the best performance with fault tolerance. In addition, in case of failure we will use
3 spare disk to automatically replace the crashed disks. (2)
