NARRATIVE REPORT ON 3rd QUARTER SIMULTANEOUS EARTHQUAKE DRILL
Earthquake is one of the famous disasters that caused people died or injured. It cannot be
detected when and where it would be happened to anyone. This is mostly happened in places where
people are hanging around and working. Earthquake is understood by being a natural
phenomenon caused by the constant movements of the earth’s crustal plates and due to climate change
too.
Connectively the Unidad Elementary School conducted the simultaneous 3RD Quarter Earthquake
Drill dated September 8, 2022. Pursuant to DEPED Memorandum.
The drill started with the ceremonial tapping of the bell where the teachers from Kindergarten to
Grade Six together with our Principal, Mr. Rogelio T. Odtojan Jr. and followed strictly the three important
things during an earthquake. These were the Ducking, Covering and Holding. Watching out for the falling
objects, and keeping calm and avoiding panic. Before the actual drills, Mr. Sonorito N. Adlawan, school
DRRMC Coordinator conducted an orientation. He disseminated the information about the occurrence of
the earthquake as well as the needs to carry out a drill to enhance the teacher’s awareness on the safety
measure before, during and after the earthquake
The drill participants are pupils and all teachers of Unidad Elementary School following the minimum
health protocols is strictly implemented in the school.
The drill lasted for 30 minutes. No untoward incident happened during the drill.
Finally, it was indeed a success. Preparedness and mitigation are key strategies in reducing
disaster risk.
