ASSIGNMENT #2

OBJECTIVE: The students discover new rhythm from a known song and
tells what they know about the new rhythm

REVIEW:

Teacher: Boys and girls , sing the song chairs to mend, clap the beat.
Students : sings the song and claps the steady beat.
Teacher: now sing it again in a different beat pattern; tap two beat on
your chest and the other two, tap on your head.
Students: sings the song, show two beat on chest and two beat
tapping the head.
Teacher: now sing the last phrase (ANY OLD RAGS…….. ) . this time
check if there is a sound in the lyrics having two beat as you pat 2 beats
on your chest and 2 on your head.
Students: sings the last phrase and identifies the sound with two beat
as having the word, OLD.
Teacher: you know that, so tell me, if ONE sound has two beat, what is
that?
Students: it’s a Tu-u
Teacher: Now sing it again from the beginning ,still tapping the beats
on chest and head, this time check if there are TWO sounds having
beats.
Students : sings and do as teacher say , tapping chest and head.
REASON:
Teacher: are there two sounds having two beats?
Students : Yes!!!
Teacher: is the new sound even or uneven?
Students: Uneven
Teacher: do this two sound have one long and one short sound?
Students: Yes

Review:

Teacher: Now sing the song again from beginning, still tapping two beat
on chest and two beat on head, SING ONLY THE NEW SOUND WHICH
YOU DISCOVERED AND PUT THE OTHERS IN YOUR HEAD
Students: sings the song but sings out the new sound pattern but
isolates the other sounds by singing it in their head .
