Schubert

Sing & Play

Perform this Schubert canon. One part should be played on a piano, the other
sung in solfa. You can choose whether the voice or the piano enters first. Submit
the homework as a video recording.

The canon should be performed twice:

Once in the major key shown, and again in the parallel minor.
Aim for a tempo between a= 120 – 160

Tips & Tricks:

- Get to know the music well; memorise a line at a time in solfa until the whole song is automatic.

- Try singing and playing at the same time, before trying the canon.

- When transforming to the parallel minor use si (harmonic minor), not sol.

- To avoid mixing up the major / minor solfa, practise and perform the major canon in its entirely
before the minor transformation. You can submit them as separate videos, if preferred.
