REACTION PAPER
As future civil engineer, what services would you like to engage in based on the services presented?
As a future civil engineer, we know that the entire society would not be eligible for working as it
does without the work of civil engineers. This profession is often called “the people-serving profession”
because many of its plans serve the public good, and because of that, I have always felt committed to how
civil engineers participate in society by comparing the beliefs of science and math to the planning,
structure, and provision of establishments, both social and special, that are needed to industrialize an
organization. I feel that if I become a civil engineer, I would have opportunities not only to get a job but
also to help and improve the lives of people from my country and the world. Nevertheless, the service that
I would like to engage or to study this line of duties is the Construction Service because the importance of
engineering understanding in construction may not be thoroughly understood by people who are clueless
about their responsibilities and the quality they develop in the process. Engineers are the fundamental
people who are responsible for the safe and efficient implementation of construction duties. An engineer
conducts like a supervisor who authorizes the different tasks and administers the continuous conserving
of traditional standards. To help understand the knowledge or how engineers contribute to construction
projects, a summary of their duties and procedures can give some awareness into their dignity.
As it applies to construction projects, several sub-disciplines make up the field. All of these various skills
sub-disciplines work together to create a safe, functional structure that complies with local federal
regulations. The different types of construction related engineers include:

 Structural Engineering this are pertains to structure design making them safe, economical and
functional to use.
 Geotechnical engineering analyzes the geological conditions, including rocks and soil to
determine if a solid foundation can be developed.
 Water resource engineering this can be particularly important for underground water flows which
can affect building site selection.
 Environmental engineering this area focuses on waste management including water, hazardous
waste, pollution and ecologies. It primarily relates to industrial and infrastructure projects, but
can have broader applications to other commercial properties.
Occasionally during a build process, companies decide to avoid using an engineer or hire individuals with
less than superb proficiency and experience to cut costs. Using a project manager or supervisor in place of
an engineer has dangerous consequences. Anyone who takes on the role to conduct construction is subject
to penalty for the safety and any potential hazards on the job site. Employees who are not applicable
trained to recognize proper loads, structural strength, and other specialized can result in cost overruns to
fix errors, building collapses, and even the loss of a personnel member. The field of engineering plays a
vital role in any type of construction project and there is no doubt of the importance of engineering
knowledge in construction.
