ESQUISSE #1: PRELIM EXAM

PROJECT TITLE: A PROPOSED ANIMAL SHELTER AND REHABILITATION CENTER

STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM: Strays have long been a community issue. Animals
abandoned and left on the streets pose safety and hygiene concerns for pedestrians, particularly
children. An animal shelter and rehabilitation center are proposed as a home for these animals,
providing care and humane treatment.

PROJECT FEATURES: The site is a regular rectangular lot with a frontage of twenty-five
meters (25.00m) facing a ten-meter (10.00m) RROW with a total area of seven hundred fifty
square meters (750 sqm). Bounded on the left side by a commercial building, at the rear side by
a privately owned lot, and a day-care facility on the right. The lot is relatively flat facing due
north.
OBJECTIVES: To design a shelter and rehabilitation for abandoned animals that will

➢ Ease of movement and circulation of staffs and animals
➢ Humane and animal friendly design features

Use Vellum Cartolina for your drawings. You can use any medium of your choice for your
renderings (watercolor, Kure color, colored pencils, etc.)

Floor Plans – 25 points

Note: Finish or not, submit your work after the class. This will serve as your preliminary
examination.
